Red Roof Inn Jackson Downtown - Fairgrounds

Decent quality for the money.

It was one of the lowest cost places in this location. The room had two queen beds and an aisle on both sides of the beds. One nightstand between the beds. There was a big empty armoire that was not needed because the hang up space adjacent to the bathroom was adequate for all of our hang up stuff. Could have used more drawers. Sink is outside the bathroom, but sink counter area is very cramped for four people. Air conditioner really worked; had to play with the setting when the room got colder than the refrigerator. NONSMOKING is great, but smokers at the entry door stink up that area.

Toilet valve was broken so the toilet ran constantly. Fortunately, it didn't get stopped up too! When we arrived, we put our travel ice chest contents into the refrigerator. It was then we noticed the refrigerator was warm. Played with the thermostat, but eventually determined that the refrigerator had been unplugged from the wall, probably so housekeeping could plug in the vacuum. Housekeeping came while we were getting ready to go to lunch, and we told them to come back in 10 minutes. They never came back. Breakfast was a waffle iron, bread, cold cereal, OJ and some fruit. Fortunately, waffle house is one block away.
