This is the second time we have stayed at Washinborough Hall and found the staff very pleasant. The food is first class and, on the first occasion, a special birthday they couldn't have been more helpful. On the second occasion we had to attend a funeral at Lincoln Crematorium and the hotel couldn't have been more convenient.
Our bathroom was very small and could do with updating.
On arrival at the hotel we were really taken aback by the beauty of the building. We were able to drive up to the front door, which was really handy, with two disabled passengers. The hotel staff were really friendly and I asked if they could book us a taxi in half an hour, they did this and we were able to go striaght to our room and get ready, we were running really late and it was great to have the stress taken away! Breakfast was really delicious and fresh, I din't want a full English and there were many other options to choose from so I had an omlete, which was a good size (I only managed half!).
Hotel has character, good lounge, bar and dining areas, welcoming fire, very helpful attentive and friendly staff, good food.
Misquoted price for a second night's stay
I liked the friendlyness of the staff there and the room was incredibly clean. It was very quiet and the bed was really comfortable.
very relaxed and chilled in beautiful surroundings and lovely clean rooms
quietness and english style
The staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist any needs. The grounds were beautiful, we enjoyed the afternoon tea outside.
Because the hotel was old, there was a smell of must. There were also cobwebs visible , I suppose a good cleaning wouldn't go astray.
Extremely pleasant location
Ease of access to Lincoln. Given good weather asteady 1 hour stroll gets you into Lincoln city centre. The food was excellent if a little expensive.
Albeit, the rooms were comfortable, the walls were very thin interms of hearing "everything" through the cupboard clearly between rooms 15 and 16 to the detriment of a decent sleep pattern in the night.
The rooms are quite tired and are in need of urgent renovation especially the bathroom. Our friends were in room 23 and their wallpaper was coming of the walls. So a little bit of TLC is now needed for the price.
