I liked that it was a short walk from Euston Station. The check-in was simple and the gentleman was very pleasant. My room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. And it was centrally located to all the places I walked in one day - Regents Park, The Royal College of Physicians building, the Royal Academy of Arts, the National Gallery, the London school of Economics for an evening lecture with plenty of restaurants on Kingsway on the walk back in the evening. The next morning a short walk up to Euston Square tube stop and I was at Paddington to catch the Heathrow Express in record time.
I was in a room with two double beds and a single so felt that I was taking up too much space for one person but I guess that's just how the room allocations worked out.
Tiny rooms and noisy
Location is good for museums and theater. Breakfast is good.
Room was the size of a closer. TV did not work. No AC so had to sleep with open window on very noisy street.
Location was quite convenient, close to St Pancras station
This was not a hotel, more like a hostel. Possibly the worst hotel imaginable. Small rooms with tiny dirty shared toilets one on each floor. Noisy sound of traffic through the night and no air conditioning in the room. This would be worth it for under £40 a night only
The room was really too small.
Nice small basicroom with good shower and toilet outside the room. Breakfast was very good and kitchen staff friendly.
I missed a radio and toilet in my room
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and bright and spacious. The location was excellent for sightseeing on foot and close to tubes and buses.Breakfast was excellent.
Good clean hotel with decent size room and great location
Reception staff (owners?) very friendly and helpful. Rooms towards the back perfectly quiet in spite of the central location (across the street from RADA, minutes away from Russell Square and the British Museum). Genuinely English without artificial "quaintness". Lovely breakfast. Had two one-night stopovers here, going and coming back from an event, and was looking forward to returning; got a free upgrade to a bigger room the second time. Nice!
If you require lots of space, or can't deal with carrying your bags up steep & narrow stairs, this hotel is not for you - but then, no affordable, old, central London hotel is likely to be. As for me, I'll be happy to come back.
The location was handy to all the main sights of London and short walk to tube station
Dining room was tiny, very cramped at breakfast, food was only average although plentiful. Room was also very small. Got very little sleep as main road is out the front and so heard traffic all night. Doubt I would stay again.
Hotel was clean and the room was as expected. Good value for money. Breakfast was also good.
Would have prefered an en-suite as opposed to a communal bathroom and should have been advised as to the location of the toilet and shower on arrival, instead of having to find it myself later on. Other than that it was good.
Owners are very welcoming,
Most staff dont speak English. General staff rather curt and not interested in your welfare. Lack of bus/taxi info, and general street maps.
Good breakfast, wireless connection was good
Due to water pump next to room 12 it was loud
