Staff
I booked my room at Mackinaw Budget Inn, but since the hotel got full even though I had confirmed reservation, I was put in an another hotel which was pretty bad and dingy

Price is right-clean-friendly
I loved the price, the staff was very friendly, the location is only a few minutes away from all the action, the room was very clean.
It was outdated- you get what you pay for as far as amenities. Walls are pretty thin.

Host could have put us on first floor ( after we told him we had once been in a hotel fire) but he didn't And there were LOTS of empty rooms No Kleenex Would have enjoyed a lakeside view Breakfast area a bit crowed --- in rain was a rather inconvenient walk
