If your a smoker you will be ok at this hotel. As there are only shutters on the windows and doors it does not stop the smoke coming inot your rooms. It was quite noisy as well. The terrace was a little tired.
It's a beautiful riad, the dinner we had was excellent, the staff (especially the manager Jean-Christophe) were very helpful, and once we had orientated ourselves within the medina it was in easy walking distance of Place Djemaa el Fna (we even walked into the new city).
Nothing - just beware of the guys on the street that will try to help you find the riad then demand a ridiculous sum of money for their trouble. It's slightly confusing to find at first because the car park is sort of split into two sections (it looks like one on the map diagram), but once you work it out you'll be fine. For this reason I would recommend the airport transfer service offered by Riad L'Orchidee.
The staff were excellent, both in terms of service and knowledge of local facilities and attractions. Despite being centrally located (10mins amble to the Souq) for shopping, it was very quiet: a real oasis within the city. The suite had a modern-Moroccan feel and the communal areas were bright, clean, quiet and comfortable. The Souq is easily the best we have experienced: the bargaining is the same, but the hassle and pressure is minimal by comparison with places like Cairo. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, which we fully intend to repeat. We highly recommend Riad L'Orchidee.
The route to the Riad is a little daunting at first, as it's snuggled in the heart of the Medina, down a series of small alleys, but Marrakech has a very safe feel to it.
Friendly, helpful staff. Small pool was a hit with the kids. Comfortable, quaint, tucked away. 15 min walk from Jemaa El Fna square.
Nice and spacious rooms, nice breakfast, nice personnel.
A bit far from the center, that's why the relation price/quality is not so positive.
