Beds are amazing! Court yards are beautiful! Close to soooooo much! Couldn’t have asked for better!
To me nothing, I’ve been in bad and just ok hotel rooms.... literally no complaints here
Location
Front desk staff could have been more friendly and the check-in process was slow and inefficient. Breakfast was minimal: stale pastries, a fruit basket, OJ and coffee.
Hard to find a better location within the French Q
We did not have any problems. The room was adequate with good air conditioning, and the staff was friendly. We felt the hotel was a great value and the location was perfect. We were steps away from Jackson Square and a block and a half off Bourbon.
The room was a little dark and outdated, but nothing I couldn't handle. They probably should renovate the bathroom sooner rather than later.
Great location
Clean and in a great location in the French Quarter
Room was a little small but we are not stay in the room folks. We were out walking and site seeing.
Closest hotel to Jackson Square and Cafe du monde.
The location and the friendly staff.
GREAT LOCATION
We could not have picked a better location to stay. We could walk out our door and be at Jackson Square. Great for walking and taking in the New Orleans culture!!!!
very nice place
In general it was really nice.
The court yard was really nice and clean
Great location. The hotel was in the French Quarter of New Orleans located 1 block from Jackson Square and 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. We never had to use our vehicle during the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel but the room was clean and quiet. I will definitely stay there again.
Loved our stay
Great location!
Street noise.
Great location... within a few blocks of historic/tourist locations and typical regional (cajun, seafood) and gourmet dining. Excellent value.
location and parking
No window in room. Breakfast was poor.
The room was beautiful; the hotel is beautiful; the staff was courteous.
The elevator for the car garage broke and myself and many others were trapped there all day and I was not able to get my car out until 10pm. We had to convince the manager that he needed to pay for meals and drinks (even water) while we all waited and then he FINALLY offered hotel rooms elsewhere for the night to the ones who chose not to wait up late to get their cars out when it was fixed.
The location was great as well as the morning staff
Didnt care much for the night receptionist, gave a little bit of an attitude when we asked for extra towels. Oh and the pool was dirty all 3 days we were there. I thought my bathtub had a ring...geez.
Loved the history of the buildings and the koi fountain and the courtyard were so beautiful and relaxing. Loved the central location. We were able to walk everywhere.
The main thing I didn't like was that at 5 o'clock in the morning our first night there, workman started a LOT of banging and loud talking right outside our window (Rm. #201). It was really loud and I was really looking forward to sleeping in on my vacation and didn't get to and we were out late the night before. When I said something to the front desk clerk she just said 'Oh yeah they're doing some work out there'. I thought that was pretty inconsiderate and I was pretty mad that morning. Also we paid for a room with 2 double beds for my husband, I and our 21 year old son and then they charged us for having a third person. I guess I should have just gotten the cheaper 1 bed room and made them haul a cot up there. Didn't seem fair.
the location, the very friendly staff and the quaintness
the carpet in both rooms was damp and very dirty and would have like a little more choice of breakfast
Room was spacious. Hotel was very convenient to the places we wanted to see.
The location of our room was above the lobby and on the street. Very noisy at 6:00 am
the location was excellent - we booked both rooms for an extra night to enjoy more of the city. The room change gave us a better room and the transfer of luggage was dealt with by the porters.
everything, it was historic and very beautiful. the courtyard was huge and with a pool it was also very beautiful will stay again
The Place d'Armes is housed in several charming 18th century buildings in a quiet street. It is excellently located a stone's throw from Jackson Square, within easy walking distance of the river and all the attractions of the French Quarter. It has a lovely central courtyard with ample poolside seating. The management were business-like, but approachable, and quickly attended to a broken light in our bathroom.
Our rooms were on the third floor and lacked windows. They were well overdue for a refit, with shabby furniture bearing noticeable stains, and well worn bathroom fittings. The rooms appeared superficially clean, but our young daughter found trash under the bed while looking for a toy that had rolled under there. Transporting luggage from parking garage to room was a little awkward, with at least three internal doors to be negotiated, and a very small elevator that only fits one large or two small persons with baggage. Access to the hotel interior could be improved by unlocking the central gate to the courtyard, although this would decrease overall security. The pool contained a lot of leaves and would benefit from being skimmed more frequently. The breakfast area was narrow and tended to get over-run at peak times. The free continental breakfast was of average quality, and would benefit from a belt-toaster or similar device to warm the croissants.
