Pros:I was looking for a hotel in NYC within walking distance of the Lower East Side, and found this. It was one of the cheapest hotels that met that criterion, at $250 per night (not including tax, which brought it up to $290). The room was sufficiently large to be comfortable to move around in, and the bed was firm (which I like). Everything was clean enough. There is free internet and it's fast enough to use it for work. The person who checked me in was friendly and had been nice on the phone when I called to say I'd be checking in late. The person who checked me out was fine, but less friendly. I can't criticize the staff, though - they were fine.
Cons:There is nothing in the hotel to enjoy. No lobby to sit in (i.e., there's the front desk and maybe a chair or two, but that's it), no exercise room as far as I can tell, no restaurant, nothing. And no coffee served in the morning, so you can use the coffee machine in the room (which I never do - no fresh milk for coffee makes it unpalatable) or you can walk for a mile to get somewhere to get coffee. So if you get up early (as I did, coming from France I was on a different time schedule), it's really kind of disappointing and difficult. While it was clean, the price wasn't low enough for me to consider it again. I'd rather pay an extra $50 per night and have a better location and overall better hotel facilities. (I might even be willing to pay $100 more for that - it was really that unpleasant.)

Pros:The view was amazing, hotel was clean and very modern and the staff was incredibly helpful. We were in town for a bike race and they even offered us an hour of entered stay for free so we could shower before driving home.
Cons:The WiFi was a little unpredictable.

Pros:Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The location was excellent, within a close walk to all of Manhattan's lower east side, and only a couple blocks from the subway. Our room had a great view of downtown and the Manhattan Bridge!
