The location to my family and the location to Central Park.
Later check out maybe?
My room was roach-Infested. After that, what else can I say?
Great budget hotel
The location of the hotel is great for getting around the city.
The pictures were not completely accurate.
Location.
Heating was very noisy. Water was slow to heat. No WiFi in rooms. No tea/coffee in rooms.
Slept in a hot sauna all night
Clean
Radiator was steaming all night and made the room stems in the 80’s. Had to put on AC and sleep with it on all night. There was no thermostats and no way to regulate the heat.
Just ok
Nice maintenance staff
Tiny room, old and dated. Far north by the park, nothing to do around that area without getting on the subway.
Value for your Money
Rooms are quiet, very clean, and comfortable.
There is no vending (cash only) or other way to buy emergency supplies. The staff is hit-and miss, some very friendly, others you are sorry to disturb. If traveling with luggage, prepare for a dodgy elevator.
Watch your wallet
Quiet and air conditioned
The staff is rude. The front desk person lied about my room request through this site. He said I asked for one bed and I showed him the reservation. Then he relented and gave me two rooms. He also charged me with the credit card for incidentals for the room. Kayak had already charged me.
Great location but....
Great location on Central Park West. Near the 109 St. train station. Across the street from the park. Safe location. Room was small but clean. Nice toiletries provided.
Bed was not terrible but a bit thin and uncomfortable. No central a/c, just an older window unit that was noisy. No room wi-fi available.
worse than a hostel...We stayed for 1 night and le
Like 1. price (however, the room was not worse the money) 2. Location (proximity to Central Park, along main road) 3. Staff was pleasant to deal with
Dislikes: 1. The only elevator was broken. They gave us a ground floor room. 2. Had to go through a fire escape like door to access the ground level corridor 3. No electronic key. Had to use a metal key (like a house key). 1 key only. 4. Room door was flimsy looking and old. 5. very primitively furnished room. the only desk in the room seemed like a first project of an amateur hobbyist. 6. Closet was in poor shape - did not want to risk putting clothes in there. 7. Beds (double bed room) felt dirty. Did not tucked ourselves in because we were afraid there might be bugs insider the sheets. We slept with clothes on, on the bedsheet. 8. Really poor and small TV. Unknown brand. 9. Location - too far from everything except for Central Park.
Great hotel for the price. Very nice staff
The staff was very welcoming. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Perfect for smart budget travelers
I'll never understand people who book a cheap stay and expect the Four Seasons. I feel we received a great value for the money in one of the most expensive cities in the US, which allowed us to maximize our trip. The staff was super friendly, helpful and even fun. That being said, if you are put off by a desk person kicking back with their feet on the desk and smelling herbal scents drifting from the back room, this place is not for you. If you are put off by worn finishes, tilted floors, or lack of amenities – this place is not for you. For an amazing rate we received a clean, comfortable bed, a friendly staff, a place right on the subway line, and we never saw an unwanted critter. We always felt safe walking to and from the subway even well past midnight (however we are rather "street smart" for lack of a better term). If you are only going to be in the room to shower and sleep, why spend hundreds of dollars a night? (Talking to my fellow 99%ers here). I've stayed in everything from luxury hotels to sub-grade highway motels, and this place is more than adequate for the money. If you are looking for luxury, spend more. Much more. If you are a smart traveler, you can feel comfortable booking here.
The only thing I wish for is that the hotel could pick up and move south of 59th St., but of course the price would go up! 15-20 minutes on the subway isn't bad to get downtown.
