Best New Hotel in NYC
The Edition has become my favorite hotel in NYC. It's modern and clean without being trendy. It's luxury without being pretentious. The service was first class. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet. Even at $500-$600 a night it's a value. The restaurants and bars were fantastic. I think being across from Madison Park adds something unique. I highly recommend the Edition.
Didn't love the elevator set up.
The New York EDITION is a sleek luxury hotel overlooking Madison Square Park in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The historic 1909 Met Life clocktower that the property resides in is a highlight in itself. The iconic building often attracts a mix of well-heeled families with older children, couples, and business travelers.
Located on the corner of East 24th and Madison Avenue, The New York EDITION overlooks Madison Square Park. The area is walkable, with plenty of spots to eat and drink nearby, including Eleven Madison Park right across the street, named the world's best restaurant in 2017, as well as Eataly just across the park. The Flatiron Building is a three-minute walk, while the Empire State Building can be reached in 11 minutes on foot. The hotel is right around the corner from the 23rd Street subway station, while Penn Station takes 15 minutes on foot.
For many travelers, the hotel's highlight is The Clocktower, a Michelin-stared restaurant with three dining rooms and a seafood menu. Breakfast and lunch are a la carte, and tea is served in the afternoon. The Bar is attached to the restaurant and serves delicious snack items like goat cheese churros and buttermilk fried chicken, as well as drinks. The Lobby Bar also offers light meals and features a good selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. The hotel also features a small spa, 24-hour gym, a business center, and event space for meetings and weddings.
Accommodations at the hotel are elegant and sophisticated and offer different types of rooms such as entry-level guest rooms, superior and deluxe rooms, and suites. Many of the rooms offer great city views and as upgrades are made from standard to suites, more convenient amenities and space are added.
