Pros: The service was amazing. We had a relative at Mayo Clinic. Check in was at 3pm. We went to the hotel to make sure we had reservations there for that night. We were not able to stay at Mayo due to Covid19. The staff let us check in at 8:30am. Checkout was at 11am. Patient discharge was noon or after. Staff pushed our checkout to 1pm, which was perfect. I have had nothing but good experiences at Hampton Inns. Why stay anywhere else?
Cons: The breakfast items were reduced due to covid19. However, they were very adequate. The rooms were a little dated, but the hotel was under going remodeling, so I am sure that will get better.

Cons: First room smelled of smoke. We were moved to a new room. We brought our own disinfect spray and wipes. Found more dirt then we should have. Accidentally spilled some water on floor by the kitchen sink. When wiped up with paper towels, the towels were filthy when done. I expected more from a Marriott property.

Pros: It's a real estate opportunity. I'd take the building down or if it has good bones--it's relatively recently built --go down to the joists and completely redo--I question the bones as the floors aren't level. Kehler once had a great name--now its mediocre to poor. I'd invest in redevelopment.
Cons: The hallways are not clean, they smell of age--perhaps it's the odor of dust. The room was not cleaned properly--used soap in the shower, waste basket not emptied. The hotel seemed poorly managed. Even a tired old building can be kept bright, clean, and spotless. Everything about the hotel can be improved so I'd start with the manager.

Cons: My room had a flat screen television. Which totally did not fit the decor of the room. I would have given a 5 star review had the TV been of a tube type with rabbit ears. I would have given 6 stars had it had a rotary dial to change channels requiring me to get out of bed to flip stations. The push button dial phone also added a "tackiness" to the room that I just couldn't shake off during my stay. Perhaps a rotary phone would have alleviated my disappointment. If these issues could be resolved it might end up being a respectable establishment.

Pros: The shining star of the Kahler is it's location. I believe that this is the main draw into this hotel as most of the clients here are sick and awaiting appointments at the clinic.
Cons: Check-in is a farce. This process takes way too long. If you go to ANY other hotel, bang-boom, check in takes less than 2 minutes. There is a lot of room for improvement here. Staff are rude and condescending. Some of the staff are just standing around doing nothing. Grab a terminal ! Get the lines reduced ! We don't need to have all the hotel rules read to us, we can read. The friendliest staff at The Kahler are the cleaning staff - good job :-) Food here is terrible. If you are in the garage, this is where the exhaust system vents. OMG, if you smelled that you would run. There are many other options to dine in Rochester and one should take advantage of them. Many of the rooms are outdated & cramped. Many of the doors do not have hydraulics on them to you get to hear SLAMMMMM all night long. I believe that this facility needs new management to address these issues.

Cons: My room was a tiny, old, room that had clearly once been a suite and had since been modified into the type of rooms this hotel gives to customers who book from discount websites. I could hear every movement and sound made by my neighbors. The hotel restaurant is a one star glorified Denny's. Spend your money elsewhere.

There were visible stains on the tub and floors and sheets (I asked for them to be replaced, but they were replaced by more sheets with stains)... ALL six of the pillows provided for the two beds were different sizes! It was amazing. The pools looked icky and resulted in the strong odor of chlorine wafting through the hallways. My room was near the facility storage, which is apparently insufficient... Something like 6 five foot tall plastic bins were placed on either side of my door to store the linens. The breakfast was sub-par for the standard fair at two star hotels. Etc. I didn't feel unsafe, and I didn't die. At the same time, It seems that you can get better quality for the price.
