Location was good, the sense of history was good. The breakfast was good day and evening staff were good
Overall the place was dreary dirty and shabby. We had an awful experience the first night, with the reception. I wrote a letter to the hotel complaint about his surliness, and lack of courtesy. The room we stayed in the first night was so shabby, I took pictures paint and wallpaper pealing and mold and rust in the bathroom. We had to literally climb over the toilet to get into the bathtub. I assume the check in guy put us there out of spite knowing how terrible it was. When we found no drinking glasses in the room I called down to the front desk twice, the first time our guy hung up on me, the second told me I had to come get them myself. We only booked this hotel because we were meeting an old school friend from England, Both parties were unimpressed being told that the bar close at 9 (Yes9) even though there's a sign clearly saying it's open until 11 We think the disappointment we feel mostly is that they claim to be first class and fall way way short.
