location near central station; free public transport (very useful and attractive asset)
The hotel was convenient to Rostock (we enjoyed the walk into town). The room was comfortable and very clean.
We would ask for a different room next time. Ours faced the street which had buses unloading late into the night, This was very noisy.
Location is perfect
Hotel's staff speaks only on German. In general they were unfriendly.
the room, the bed, the cleaning of toilet mm. breakfest
Unbeatable location right next to the Hauptbahnof (Railway Station), Included all-mode city transport pass valid upto Warnemunde, wheelchair-friendly access which is good for rolling heavy luggage too :-), rooms available for smokers too who are not considered outcastes, included breakfast, 24-hr (wo)manned reception and unlocked door means, unlike some other budget hotels in this area, a guest won't get 'locked-out' if they return late or their keycard doesn't work for any reason to let them in their room.
Exorbitantly expensive Internet, deceptive log on policy and validity. This is also the case at InterCity Bremen, which I just now browsed before booking at Best Western.
A funky, practical and centrally located hotel awaits when you book the upmarket 4-star Intercityhotel Rostock. With its stylishly decorated rooms and colourful design, it speaks mainly to edgy city travellers who appreciate the short distance to Rostock city centre as well as a more modern and hip approach to interior design. The city centre is only about a 10min drive away by car, while public transport only takes around 15min. Located opposite Rostock train station, the hotel is a great stop for travellers who are only staying for one night, while the on-site conference centre also makes this hotel a good choice for people who have come to the city for business.
The Intercityhotel Rostock was originally built back in 1994, but it has been refurbished regularly since, with the last renovation completed in 2016. Today, guests have access to 174 rooms that range from Standard Rooms to Business Rooms and the Junior Suite. There is also a special room for people with reduced mobility to ensure all safety standards are in place. All rooms feature basic amenities like free Wi-Fi, spacious bathrooms with showers or bathtubs, and a flat-screen TV. Standard and Business Rooms measure 19 m², but Business Rooms are equipped with a minibar. Guests staying in the Junior Suite can spread out over 38 m² and enjoy a separate living area as well as a sofa bed, which is especially recommended if you’re travelling with your family. One special add-on that comes with all rooms and distinguishes this hotel from many others is that each guest receives a free CityTicket for Rostock’s public transport upon arrival.
Soft shades of lilac characterise the design of the on-site hotel restaurant and bar, where guests can enjoy a scrumptious meal or drink without leaving the premises. The restaurant is also where the breakfast buffet is provided every morning from 06:00 to 10:00 (07:00 to 11:00 at weekends), and for lunch and dinner you can choose from a handful of selected dishes. Traditional Hanseatic cuisine is offered at the restaurant, as well as a range of international dishes. The bar serves a wide selection of drinks, which can be consumed in the cosy lounge area next to the bar.
Just on the hotel doorstep there is plenty more to explore for gourmands on the hunt for a delicious meal. One of the highest-rated restaurants in Rostock, Borwin Hafenrestaurant, is only about 8min away by car. In the centre of Rostock you’ll find Helgas Kitchen and the traditional German restaurant Hopfenkeller.
With its location so close to the main station and six stately conference rooms on site, the Intercityhotel Rostock is the perfect choice for holding a seminar, workshop or meeting. The six meeting rooms vary in size and can be combined if necessary, with a largest capacity of 100 people. Each room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, complimentary water in glass bottles (as part of the Green Meeting policy) and notepads.
With Rostock so close to the Intercityhotel Rostock, you can explore the city and its attractions easily. Some of the top-rated sights to explore in Rostock include the Kulturhistorisches Museum (Museum of Cultural History), the Steintor and Stadtmauer Rostock (Old Gate and City Wall), Rostock Volkstheater and the Haedgehalbinsel. All these attractions lie within a driving radius of approximately 10min.
