The Patriots losing
Great Location and Staff
The location downtown was great and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Be aware that it costs about $50 per day for onsite valet parking, so factor that into the cost.
Great location, spacious room with some wear and tear
Room smelled of cigarette
Kimpton's are consistently good. I felt this was more a businessman hotel which is quite different from other Kimpton's I've stayed at. Most of them have a hip vibe which for us old folks is fun and energizing. Our stay was short but pleasant and the staff was nice. I really have no complaints. Everything was clean and the quality of the amenities were good. Like a lot of hotels they have gone bare bones in the toiletries everything is liquid and pre stocked. As a woman though i find that like other hotels I miss things like a Shower cap and some of the other little things that used to be provided. Hard to imagine that would be big in the cost cutting department. Overall tho none of this would stop me from staying at another Kimpton.
Good, but weird oversights
On the upside, cool pool area w/bar, free cocktail hour, and staff that are happy to send forgotten items back home thru the mail
Didn't clean the room the first two days. Had to call down to get them to do it on afternoon of day 2. Kind of weird and annoying is all.
Stay at this place.... All hotel staff take pride in their jobs.
Didn't have a TV package to be able to order in room movies.
I was content with everything for sure I won't hesitate to stay there next time while in San Diego
excellent restaurant in hotel, many excellent restaurants nearby
Difficult to identify the front entrance!
Staff were really friendly. Room was very nice and rooftop pool was very cool. Location to the gas lamp and ballpark is perfect.
$45 overnight parking.
Gas Lamp quarter is a happening place. Lots of good restaurants and bars. Great pool deck lounge w bar at the Solamar. Friendly staff w attentive valet team.
Shower didn't adjust, spray was not right. Bathroom outlets not fixed to wall properly. Pillows thin and cheap feeling.
Great location. Expensive parking. Probably slightly more enjoyable when construction is not going on all around the hotel. Complimentary beer/wine great addition. Room was clean but there were a few areas to improve: Bathroom cieling had some moldy/discolored spots and the housekeeping staff forgot to remove banners the previous guests had placed in the room "Bride to Be" ... that was a bad start. But the staff were very friendly apologetic about that. Overall great trip and the location cant be beat!
Very nice rooms, very clean and staff was very nice and helpful
I had a corner room with construction going on on both sides till late in the evening to first thing in the morning. Couldn't open the curtains do to construction works just outside very noisy stay.
