Cons (-) We found five cockroaches in the room in about 30 minutes, including one on the headboard. There was pubic hair in the bathroom. We were on the second floor, but we could see their open, festering dumpster not 50 feet away. It looked like they had not even put fresh sheets on the bed. We were tired. Cons (-) There was no soap! Had to go downstairs and ask for it. The guy on the reception was not nice at all. In the morning, when I went for continental breakfast, mykey wouldn't open the room, when I finally got in, same guy showed up and demanded to tell my room number to make sure I'm staying there. Pros (+) So close to Santa Cruz. Also near food which is a plus. Quiet and relaxing and you get the HBO channel! reasonable price also. Provides a mini fridge and that's awesome.

Pros (+) On a family trip down to Southern California we were looking for a inexpensive motel to stay one night in. We found that in this motel. It looks a little rough on the outside but we were pleasantly surprised by how clean our room was. The room looked to be recently refurbished. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cons (-) The only downside to this motel was that our neighbors were coming and going all night. Luckily my kids are sound sleepers. Our bathtub was missing a drain plug. I was hoping to give my daughter a bath. When I called the front desk the man didn't seem too worried. He said he would bring one, but never showed. Also the beds were pretty firm, but for the price it overall was good.
