Staff was very friendly and room was very comfortable. Keep in mind it's a historical building therefore it is old building. There are 3 floors and no elavator but this only adds to it's charm. Perfect location to walk to Seattle Center and Rapid Transit steps away.
We didn't know ahead of time until reading reviews about them offering continental breakfast. It is fruit and pastries only with limited seating in a lounge atmosphere (sofas and chairs). Muffins, croissants, cut melons, whole apples and bagels with cream cheese or jam (no toaster available though). There is a menu to order more but it's hard to eat a regualr breakfast sitting on a sofa. There is also no view if your room at the back of hotel unless you like a painted wall.
Cute and clean
Free wi-fi and mostly good service. One or two less friendly but mostly terrific. Hotel-only access to the neighboring boutique coffee joint also a plus for us. Continental breakfast average as to food but exceptional as to its layout and location
At least one valet/bell guy and one desk clerk were odd/not friendly but the other four folks we encountered over our 4 day stay were delightful! Also no premium TV
Great character hotel
Location to Seattle attractions was ideal. Hotel was gorgeous, room had a lot of character and was spacious with kitchen. Very clean. If you like hotels with older character this is it. Breakfast was a predefined meal instead of the carb filled buffet you usually get, but really yummy, my favorite (sorry texas state shaped cand still free. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Helpful when i forgot something in my room and they've fedexed it back to me. We'll be going back, apparently there is a piano bar at the side of the building that is amazing. I suggest a first floor room, the high ceilings were amazing!
Parking was a challenge but the lot around the block had an early bird option for the day we were able to take use. All of Seattle was like this however. Door staff helpful with suggestions around parking. The bathroom fixtures were functional, the bath tub wasn't ideal, but, I think it was actually original! If you like antique you'll forgive it's appearance. It was an interesting bathroom.
Location and historical
The staff is great. You can really tell no one hates their job and that made them very helpful. It is a old. Building so some things are dated but that's ok. The rooms are apartments more than hotel rooms!! Huge, with a great little kitchen is full size fridg.
The tub water never really turned off and the toilet could use some new workings so it doesn't run. But again it's an old building and that's part of the charm.
Our room had a small but fully equipped kitchen. Also very quiet and comfortable and robes which always make me feel fancy
Rooms have old school charm that can be a little worn looking and Continental breakfast is small, but this is what a Continental breakfast is...and many places don't even serve one now
Beautiful, excellent staff, great location, but a
I really loved this hotel. I really enjoyed the 1920s feel throughout the hotel and the rooms. The kitchenette was a nice addition. We never ended up using the table for much beyond an extra place to set things and charge electronics, but having plates and utensils ready to use was very convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. The room was exceptionally clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Continental breakfast was light and delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions.
We were a bit disappointed that the windows didn't open. Having to run the air conditioning all the time made the air very dry. We also struggled a bit with the wi-fi. The signal was not particularly strong, which was frustrating, but not the end of the world.
Fantastic Location for Foodies!
Nestled between Toulouse Petite and Cafe Ladro - how can you beat that?!??
Loved the ice water, decor, and authenticity
Great ambiance at this historic Seattle hotel. Great location for any events at the Seattle Center. Easy access to Queen Anne, waterfront, and downtown areas, as well. Kitchenette was stocked and very convenient!
No elevator, but staff will carry your bags. The room needed a desk for working & computer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rom was huge, with separate sitting and kitchen/dining areas. The location was ideal for me, within easy reach of the city centre but away from the hurly-burly of the business district. Plenty of facilities nearby, and within an easy walk of the space needle and all the other attractions on the site. A bus route connects to the city centre.
There were only net curtains in the bedroom, so that it was not dark at night and I was forced to wear an eye mask to screen out the light. The breakfast facilities were meagre.
This hotel was different in that it is not part of a chain and had its own personality. We found it charming and accessible to all we needed. A fair walk to the city but we enjoy walking. Great food over the road
Maybe the lack of a lift
The hotel is adorable. The room accommodations were comfortable & spacious. This would be the ideal spot for a family vacation, due to the kitchenette or someone w/an extended stay in the downtown Seattle area. The neighborhood is quaint & very safe. There are a multitude of local ethnic restaurants surrounding the hotel; all within walking distance. Around the corner is a drug store & wonderful upscale grocery store (spirits avail), which is perfect if you want to take a night off, stay in & prepare food in your room. The hotel has a lovely Victorian feel & the initial staff who greeted us were wonderful. It is also within walking distance to the Space Center [Needle] & if you're lucky enough to get a room with a view... it's spectacular!
The beautifully restored brick building's interior decor is dated & lacks adequate lighting, creating a dark feel in the lobby, hallways & rooms. There is no elevator, but the physically-fit bellman do a bang-up job. If you have trouble w/stairs, call ahead for a 1st-fl-rm. And even though the rooms are incredibly spacious, they lack warmth & coziness. A low dresser/desk like piece of furniture would be a nice addition as a central depository for jewelry, glasses, wallets/purses, water bottles, phones, laptops, cameras, chargers, papers, just to list a few travel items. Unfortunately, the nightstand wasn't enough and these objects ended up in various places all over the (1-BR-apt) room, raising concern of losing or leaving something behind.
Good clean room and good service & support from staff.
It is a very charming hotel yet in my opinion it could use some remodelling because it is a bit outdated. The service I received from the staff was good. Yes I would stay there again probably because of the location.
Lovely decor and central to city. Elegant. Comp breakfast a plus
No curtains in room? bit noisy too as on road side so needed ear plugs
The hotel has lots of charm and the rooms are very spacious. Also the staff were very friendly. The complimentary wine evenings are great and the adjoing Cafe Lladro serves great coffees and cakes. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Well decorated lobby
The hotel is located across the street from an extremely noisy bar. There were people in the street until 1:30 to 2:00 am everynight we were there. This made sleeping very difficult. The bath tub did not drain. There is no elevator and I had my 77 year old mother with me, who walks with a cane. I did not realize that the hotel was not handicapped accessable.
