The proficiency of the restaurant staff. Seem more interested in their own chit-chat then serving the customers..
I did not find the hotel suitable for business travelers.
The hotel location is extremely poor, many taxi dreivers did not the hotel or its location. Some refused to travel to the hotel.
Free and fast internet!
It's just a very old dated hotel. While I was sleeping there was was remodeling construction noise on the unit above me and I called them 4 times to stop banging the walls. We go out as visitors and we sometimes like to sleep up to 10 or 11 am.
Poor restaurant services. typical chinese managrment without international standard training. Receptionist eating while serving customers.
Breakfast restaurnat staffs
Nice hotell staff: I've read alot of comments about them beeing rude, but i did not experience this at all. Excellent location: you walk out into everyday life in Shanghai, and just a 5 minute walk away is the more polished Nanjing Lu, with all it's shopping possibilities, the Metro, etc. I felt safe around the hotel (actually everywhere in Shanghai)
I did not like that the hotel rates "had changed" (from the price qutoed by booking.com) when I arrived. I've heard other people complain about the same thing. I didn't bother to argue about it as it was only a $60 incrase for 9 days. But still very annoying. There are a couple of touts right outside the hotel who tried to sell me some "lady massage" every day i passed them (travveled alone) . They were never agressive, but actually quite friendly when you started talking to them. Still abity annoying. This is common in Shanghai though. They are outside every hotel, so don't let this affect your decision.
Location is excellent. It is close to many sites that we visited.
Quality of the breakfast buffet is lacking. The decor of the guest room is not to our liking. However, this is a matter of personal taste.
The Salvo Hotel is a very nice hotel with all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. I would stay there again.
Goeek prce/quality compared with other 5 star hotels
It was generaly preety clean and nice room.

The room and the inclusion of a computer
