Charming, comfortable, everything we needed, great location. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely be our first choice again if the price is right. Lovely room.
Would have enjoyed better towels, a hook in the bathroom and an extra blanket. The air conditioning was a bit difficult to adjust.
Conveniently located in downtown DC, easy to walk to most sights, restaurants and entertainment venues. The food was good and the hotel interior was quiet.
My only complaint is that the windows really need to be replaced. The up/down casement windows tended to slide down from the top, which let in a draft. Also, they are single-pane, which allow every noise outside into the room, and I was on the 7th floor. Tuesday morning trash pick-up was especially vivid, and a construction project that was a block away sounded like it was next door.
The elegance and the staff
Historic Hotel Close to the Convention Center
The hotel is within 4 blocks on the Mt Vernon/Convention Center Metro station. There's a CVS close by for forgotten items and it's on the way to the metro. There's a few places to grab a meal within a one block radius. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. They have a business center with a printer for printing boarding passes or emails. The TV has a great selection of channels.
The toilet was really low, hard for tall people with bad knees. The bed could have been a little more comfortable. The A/C blows on the bed if you don't adjust the levers. There's not enough light by the mirror for makeup, they need to have a movable mirror that you can take to the desk. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. One of the elevators was down, so it sometimes took a long time to get to the room.
Pleasant helpful staff, superlative room, great location, overall would visit again
Convenient location to my meeting. Staff is very courteous and helpful.
Be sure to ask for a quiet room. The traffic on Mass. Ave. side can be heard even on the higher floors.
Location...Its a short walk from the Washington Mall.
They dont have an AC.They have a heater and if you tell them your room is too hot, they asked us to open a window They gave a loud fan which made noise than cool the room. The room is tiny. The flush in the restroom was inefficient. There is no option to park your own car.The valet service is mandatory and is an additional 45$ per night. No inhome laundry service. We walked in from the rain soaking wet and they said they didnt have a dryer in house.
CLEAN ROOMS AND COMFY BEDS, GREAT LOCATION
Historic hotel with beauty and charm. I would lov
The hotel and the staff. Both warm inviting and beautiful!
A very business-like but friendly hotel. The staff were particularly helpful but not over the top. Boutique - but not small. Very convenient for the local convention centre without the overblown prices of the other "standard" business hotels. An excellent restaurant, conducive for business meetings. I will make this my regular stay for future annual conferences.
The room is very spacious, clean and very well decorated. The bed is even more comfortable than Hilton! I enjoy my stay here. Definitely recommended!
Excellent location. In-house restaurant for breakfast.
Only one chair in a double room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
our room was at the front of the building and traffic at 5am was very loud.
I was given the suite as I booked two months ahead of the stay. It was really an experience to have the suite in such a vintage hotel
the hotel provided free wifi, was clean and comfortable and was in walking distance of all main attractions
needed a little up dating
I had to leave one day earlier than my 3 day reservation, but your staff insisted at check in time that I had to pay for the 3 day cost. I had never encountered such an unreasonable requirment and the unreasonable person who had insisted that I should. Would I return to this hotel (which has such a small room) or recommend the hotel to any one?
The comfort, style, tea time, and friendliness of staff*
*A minor incident involving my request for ice that never came, requiring me to go downstairs and ask the desk clerk to get it; then while waiting, around the corner another staff member appears with ice that caused me a bit of an embarrassment. Other than that, the hotel staff and and services were excellent!
It was excellent - I would go back...
The breakfast was expensive for what it was - it would be useful to have this integrated as part of the price.
Bad food experience - Eggs Benedict on the menu, but they had no English muffins and no Canadian bacon. They tried to construct it with other materials on hand, with miserable results. Also: in the room - no chair to sit at the table to use my laptop. No remote for the TV. Hard-to-figure-out shower controls. No one available to hail a cab for me when I left.
