Friendly staff, clean, did everything well
Nice big room with kitchen (separate room no less) and small dressing room near bathroom. Comfy bed and couch. Nicest woman at checkin who was extremely helpful with maps, suggestions, answering questions. Great location close to Foggy Bottom metro station and While Foods and good restaurants and near to Georgetown
We were excited they had free bikes which we signed up for but after going a mile or so we realized they were in bad shape and not really safe so we turned around and went back and went for a walk instead. The helmets weren't safe either.
Comfortable stay at an excellent location
The hotel suite was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was amazing, very quaint and charming neighbourhood only 5 min away from the subway, which made travelling to all parts of the city easy.
The staff were very friendly but we noticed that the toiletries and towels were not replenished regularly during our stay, which was disappointing as it was not a cheap hotel. It was nice to have a kitchenette but the fridge was old and very loud, as was the AC unit, which was also very loud.
The bed was too soft.
I can't review them because my reservation was can
At midnight before the morning I was flying to DC I received an odd (non-customer-facing) zendesk email informing me that River Inn had overbooked and would not honor my reservation. We called (800.468.3578) and were told that I would be re-booked at 1 of 2 nearby hotels—and I would be informed which by email before 5:30 AM. No email arrived. I called the number again at 8:30 AM (as I boarded the plane and after sitting on hold was eventually assigned to Washington Circle. Customer service was very helpful but looking back on it, the system wasn't able to make their own promised deadlines, causing unnecessary anxiety. When I arrived at the new hotel, there was more trouble: the room they had booked was only available for one night and then I would have to move so they downgraded me to a room so I could stay for the duration. Oy vey!
I absolutely love this hotel. The bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and nice The distance to the Metro was so convenient. The kitchen was so useful. We grabbed groceries at Trader Joe's up the block for breakfast every day.
Parking. We ended up finding a parking garage up the block for $16 a day which was great.
An amazing location in DC very close to metro and G'town. A very modern hotel with an attractive lobby and quaint suites. While I did not have an opportunity to enjoy most of the services during my short stay, I trust they are well-maintained an equal to other parts of the hotel. I will definitely return.
Everything, great location, friendly staff, very clean, great service!
the room was very clean and we liked the location. The room was set up perfectly,it served all our needs.
I don't want to sound cheap but the parking is expensive. If I plan to stay for a week that will add up to a costly expense.
Location and excellent value for money.
Was unable to order room service one because they were too busy and one of the restaurant staff was very rude.
The hotel was two blocks to the Metro and two blocks to Trader Joe's for breakfast and snack supplies. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we will plan to visit again.
Garbage truck at the back of hotel in the morning. Oh well.
Convenience to metro, location to Georgetown( walking distance), daily cleaning service, staff helpfulness
we found the River Inn to be perfect for our needs. We have 3 young children and the room was suitable (+ cot) for us all. A metro station is only a couple of blocks away which made travel to the centre of D.C very easy. Would certainly recommend this hotel to others.
Having a kitchen and spacious room.
Location, style, dog OK option, restaurant
For being so central in Washington, the value for money was very good. The area is trustworthy also at night and walking distance to George town, Foggy Bottom (Metro station) and even most of the touristic attractions (if you don't object walking for about 30 min.).
All encounters with the staff were friendly and helpful, except for when I checked in the person then seemed rather stressed and short.
Staff was friendly and very attentive. Perfect location for easy access to George Washington University and the Metro.
There is a laundry room but it only has one washer and one dryer. With other guests using the facilities as well it was somewhat inconvenient.
Staying at the River Inn in Washinton, DC means having the best of everything just outside the doors of the hotel, including bicycling tours provided by REI bikes and walking tours throughout the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. When staying closer to the hotel, there are great options as well, including the on-site restaurant DISH Drinks. This restaurant serves classic American cuisine and is a great place to people watch as the hotel is right in the middle of the diplomatic area of DC. The hotel also has a fitness center that is equipped with everything needed for you to maintain your workout – there is no need to stop your routine when you can keep up with everything in the hotel.
The rooms at the River Inn are some of the best in the District because the hotels offer fantastic views of the Potomac River, lots of space, and modern décor. The room types available are the Studio Queen, One Bedroom Double Suite, One Bedroom King Suite, Potomac One Bedroom King Suite, and the Potomac One Bedroom Double Suite. All rooms include free Wi-Fi, premium channels on flat screen TVs, and the larger rooms have fully stocked kitchenettes and minibars as well. The larger suites also have sleeper sofas, so families really enjoy these suites because it’s easy to get everyone in one room.
There are so many great reasons to visiting Washington, DC. Staying at the River Inn is yet another reason that coming to this city is a must. With exceptional service and amenities, this hotel stands out among the rest.
