Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was small, but clean and efficient.
The two men who worked the desk were very knowledgeable of the area and offered good advice on seeing the town.
Convenience to train station and historical areas
No shower in room
Everything was as described.
Staff, cleanliness, breakfast - everything OK or even better.
There is nothing wrong with the hotel as such. On the contrary, everything is and functions rather well, although the decor is a bit outdated and air conditioning makes a lot of noise, but doesn't really cools. What is bad is a noise from drunkards (midnight till 4 in the morning) from a noisy bar across the street - one cannot sleep.
The room was the smallest of any we had on our 16 days of travel.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Street noise was very load and without AC windows needed to be open for circulation. It was impossible to sleep. Parking located several blocks away and was very expensive.
Very friendly, English-speaking staff. Eager to help with maps and directions. Plentiful, goregeous breakfast (buffet style). Clean, tidy rooms. Internet available for internet cafe prices. Right in the city center, (but be prepared to be awoken at 7 by the cathedral bells). We reserved it for our relative and we wished we stayed here, not in the next door hotel (which was awful).
Advise to other travelers: if a town is small, you don't have to be in the very center- it's usually much more noise and it's not necessarily better here. If you travel in a car, like we did, you would be able to find free parking in hotels further away from the center, and in this case we had to walk to our car. Thanks to the very helpful hotel manager who directed us to a free parking near the city walls! For the city's center, this hotel was great and we'd stay here if we came again! It's a very reasonable price for the money, especially if you consider this breakfast!
The room was comfortable, but the staff was incredible. Everyone at the desk was always pleasant and very helpful. I contacted the hotel staff via email from the United States, and they provided us with transfer reservations, festival information, and other valuable information before we ever began our trip. One day, during our stay, we wanted to buy tickets for a Mozartfest show, but the box office was only open when we were going to be on a boat trip. Ulrich personally went to the box office to buy the tickets, and then had us pay him only when he was successful. His effort helped provide one of the great highlights of our trip. Also, as we were leaving by shuttle for an early trip to the airport, the staff wanted us to have something in lieu of the breakfast we would miss because we were departing before breakfast, so they made sack lunches for us from the hotel breakfast fare. This hotel was rated as two stars, but the personal service from the staff was better than I have ever received in a four star hotel. The breakfast included much of the typical items that are found in German hotels, but the layout was extremely elegant, and the extra touches such as caviar atop a hard boiled egg half made it feel like a special meal, certainly competing with hotels carrying more stars. But, the staff is the real gem here.
There was a minor musty (like mildew) smell in our bathroom. It always faded after the window was open for a while, and the room appeared clean, but the faint smell was disappointing. But, knowing this, I would still go back again. You must see the comments about the staff.
The receptionist was very helpful - he helped us find and book a restaurant for the evening. The hotel was also located right in the town centre.
