Very friendly and helpful management with exellent service, specially concerning tour planning. Easy communication in english. Although chinese style yummy breakfast.
Shower without cabin is unconvenient.

The envriment of Dongling resort is excellent.It's on the top of mountain with a super nice view of Li River.Very clean room and very nice staff. The resort have a beautiful yard which make me feel so relax and confortable.The owner of the resort is a nice young couple very helpful.Delisious Chinese food also. I'd like to come back again.

Very pretty setting - the hotel grounds comprise a beautiful garden with views over the hills surrounding Yangshuo. It is thus very quiet and peaceful, and far from the noise of the bars of downtown. Jan was quite helpful, too, and speaks a decent English. The Resort also had bicycles for rent and served a decent homemade breakfast, including a delicious sweet bread. The room was quite clean and had a computer and a TV (with no English channels though). It had a lovely terrace too.
The tranquility comes at a cost: The hotel is quite far outside the town of Yangshuo and it takes 10 minutes to get there with a special taxi, which Jan will arrange for you no problem. But NB: it's 25 RMB each way, steep for a cab. The "road" up to the hotel is also a rutted dirt path: it's a rough ride for the last km to say the least. The rooms are decent but basic. Our "king" bed was two twins pushed together: not ideal for a couple. The shower is in the bathroom with no shower curtain, so the bathroom gets soaked when you take a shower. And if it is not sunny outside you're going to need to ask them to pre-heat the hot water - as they use solar water heating. Considering the rave reviews, the hotel was disappointing.
