Great location, but ...

The location is amazing. I overpacked, and I still didn't find the stairs unmanageably steep. Breakfast was good - especially the coffee. Cute decor.

The sheets on my bed were dirty, and the room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, despite many signs saying smoking not allowed. While I should have asked to switch rooms, I opted to open a window. The smell was still so bad that it bothered me all three nights of my stay. Also, while bathroom was close to the room, which was good, it wasn't very clean at times.

An additional amount (Euro 7.50) was charged for credit card payment. Breakfast is not served before 8.30AM. General decoration is very old.

The location was good but don't stay here!!

Don't stay here!! This is one of the worst hotels I have experienced and is really terrible value for money. The staff were rude, the room was tiny, the furniture was broken, the wallpaper had been picked off (then partially covered up with Michael Jackson album covers), generally nothing had been fixed since the 1970s, and there was a bad smell throughout the hotel (which could have been from the hotel dog). And for this I payed 60 euros a night. What a mug! The hotel also has an extremely steep stair up to the second floor reception and rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors, which would be a problem for anyone who isn't fit and very nimble. This stair seems to be the only fire escape.

It is quite near the museums.

Very small rooms, and the shared toilet was so small one could barely stand inside it.
