The Extended Stay America Austin Downtown Town Lake has lots of great amenities, but probably the best of the amenities is its location; the hotel is really close to lots of great Austin nightlife including lots of bars that play live music. As for the hotel itself, there are a ton of great reasons to enjoy it, but probably the best is the extended stay feature. At this hotel, you do not need to leave within a few days to save money, in fact, the longer you stay, the more money you save thanks to the extended stay rates. There is a free grab and go breakfast along with a coin-operated laundry room, you can also get pet friendly rooms for your dog or your cat to stay with you.
The rooms at the Extended Stay America Downtown Town Lake are all either one single king bed rooms or dual queen rooms. All of the rooms have a large space and come with a fully equipped kitchen – this means not only do you have a stove and sink, but also you get to enjoy the benefits of having plates and silverware too. Pros (+) The location is perfect for walking into downtown. The price is right too.
Cons (-) So noisy. Any voice in the hallway travels right into the room. Especially when a bachelor party is happening next door. Beds are uncomfortable
Pros (+) I didn't have the cleanliness issues others did; the hotel needs a refurbishment but it was clean. There aren't many luxuries offered and the room is laid out strangely. It wasn't overly comfortable to hang out in but we didn't plan to be in our room all that much.
Cons (-) I had a challenge with a late check out and there were no apologies offered even though I watched the night clerk record the request in her evening log. Service was not great here but it was the cheapest hotel for the evening so I guess what does one expect?
Cons (-) Upon entering the room, and taking a look around, I found hairs found in the shower/bath and bed - pretty disgusting. Checked out 10 min after checking in - after telling staff why I was leaving (and asking for a refund which was processed), no apologies were given.... I'll never consider an Extended Stay again

Cons (-) The internet was pretty slow, I paid for the upgraded speed and didn't really notice a difference. There were also times I came to the front desk for a question and no one was there or even close by.

I foolishly believed this. Later when I asked where my refund was, my requests for information was ignored and I realized how upfront this deception had been. Wow, not many can lie outright. Pros (+) - Inexpensive compared to other local hotels - Great location right next to downtown Austin. It is under a mile to many fun areas downtown and along S Congress Street. - Complimentary Wifi (slow, but free, so can't complain) - Complimentary "grab-and-go" breakfast (very limited, but again, free) - Lots of free parking

Pros (+) Location was amazing. We went during the start of the recent monsoon season so much travelling or exploring on foot meant a wet time. The locations was awesome to catch an Uber to the bars or to local areas to see.
Cons (-) I think we picked a bad weekend with quite a few events going on. This is the only way I can explain the crazy price. We booked late but the price we paid was twice what I would have expected to pay for the facilities. It was one of the cheapest locations that weekend though so that is the only reason we were there.

The draws had crumbs in them, the mirrors had layers of toothpaste and make-up caked on them, the sheets were full of hair, the comforter was visibly dirty, and the shower still had the last occupant's hair.
