Amazing location and value
Possibly in one of the nicest areas of Barcelona -- steps away from Las Ramblas, La Boquerîa, and beautiful sunset views of the ocean. Incredibly friendly front desk staff (and it's staffed 24/7). Breakfast was included and it was pretty decent—nothing to write home about but it'll fill you up. I stayed in a private 2-person room rather than the hostel-style shared rooms. Room is small but utilitarian--it has a surprisingly comfortable bed, good lighting, and full AC/heat. Bathroom is also quite nice; great shower.
Bathroom door has some pretty big gaps and doesn't lock -- hope you're comfortable with your fellow travelers!
Room very small but you had all that you needed so that is a plus
As in most of the reviews of this hotel, I must say that I don't think there is a better located hotel. The street is a side-road to La Rambla... actually, the best side-road of all, with shops, pubs and places to eat. If the room does not overlook the street, it's adequately quite and any noise in the street cannot be heard. One of the receptionists always gave a broad and welcoming smile.
Surprisingly, there was no bath-soap and only on the last day did the room attendant place little sample-like sachets of soap liquid. Also, when we asked for a knife we were directed to go to a little kitchenette (which is common to all) and the only knife we found wouldn't cut anything. We couldn't go to the breakfast room past the breakfast hours to borrow a knife.
I liked the cleanliness of the whole place and the fantastic location for a great price.
I did not like smoking in the common area. The Internet connection was slow or sometimes non-existent. Fresh fruits for breakfast would be nice.
No complaint for the location. Close to the St Jaume I metro station. Staff are friendly and funny
