Great staff, perfect location. Endless supply of coffee. Water bottle refill stations. Laundry.
Noise: I could hear all my neighbors during normal hours, from normal conversations to children screaming and their TVs or music, which is normal but annoying. However, you can't sleep with all the slamming doors and loud TVs going on between 11 pm and 6 am. The A/C/heater is super loud, too. Ridiculously loud. Internet: their Wi-Fi is public and not secure, even inside each room, which is bad for remote work. Furthermore, it was ridiculously slow and would stop working altogether during peak hours. Kitchen: it had a microwave and a fridge but no cups or plates to heat the food or beverages in.

Fits what we needed
Great location! Very close to Michigan Ave and city center Comfortable beds Free re-fillable water bottles Sufficient enough gym / workout facility Friendly staff; able to hold our luggage before Check-in and after check-out Hairdryer
Horrible view; had view of side of a building TV glitches out frequently No salon/ spa available for those long walking days Room was very very small
Location is second to none
Absolutely no amenities or service. No breakfast. No luggage carts. No frills hotel. Don't expect anything but a place to sleep. We aren't unhappy at all. Just not impressed for the money we spent
Staff was extremely friendly including maids, front desk, and bellhops. I stayed on a high floor which had only 2 other rooms. No problem with elevators. My room had a great view over the Chicago River and was larger than I expected. Taxis were immediately available, but also a great location to walk to many things. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
small but nice
Clean nice facilities.
Small.
ok
parking was cheaper.
the restaurant in the lobby sucked.
Great Location
The staff was great. TIm at the front desk was very helpful and patient. Very helpful with directions and suggestions for dining. The location couldn't have been better - right on the river front. Could walk the lake shore down to the aquarium and Field Museum. Walking distance to Magnificent Mile shopping . CTA stop is very close.
Room was small, but clean Walls not that soundproof. Would have liked a complimentary breakfast, but there is a place right next door and an Einstein's Bagel a few blocks away.
Bedbugs, bedbugs, bedbugs
Good location, just across the Chicago River from Trump Tower. Very convenient to the heart of the city. The staff, including the house maintenance personnel, was very nice and responsive to our request.
Bedbugs, my wife was bitten 4 times. Not pretty. No air conditioning due to a dual pipe system which has already been converted from chillers to boiler even though the afternoon temps. were in the eighties. We had to ask for a portable fan. Old building with small, slow elevators. Rooms need to be updated. Toilet leaked and left puddle on the floor. When we picked our bags up from checked bag storage, my fold -over suitcase had been unzipped and remained opened. Would not stay here again.
I loved the location, it's very close to all of the main dining & shopping in which I came to the city for. The staff was excellent and very kind to me, that goes a long way!!
The price for the sized room that I was given was not up to my expectations.
Couldn't ask for a better location. Comfortable rooms and good security and staff.
I loved the location. We were able to walk everywhere.
I would've liked complimentary breakfast.
We definitely enjoyed the location. Easy access to shopping on Michigan Avenue, lots of restaurants within walking distance, and a good scenic view of the Chicago River.
We had a little trouble with the elevator recognizing our keycards.
The location was excellent to get anywhere and the guys that got you taxis were very accomodating and polite. We loved the quaint ness ot the place. The price was excellent . Would go back again and suggest it to anyone. We had a newly redone room and it was perfect. Slep really well on superb beds.
Nothing
The hotel was quiet, with non-intrusive staff. A quick lunch was available at the hotel (Bacino's) or four alternatives within less than two blocks.
In general I thougth the hotel was perfect but especially I enjoyed location, service and bar/restaurant.
Staff & location
Location, location, location, front desk staff extremely helpful, hotel security, free internet.
room was small, "twin" beds seem smaller than average.
Everything! Location was brilliant and we had a great river view from our window. Room was a good size and there is a nice restaurant attached to the hotel. No complaints at all!
I had modest expectations given the existing reviews and the stated niche the hotel aims for (good value for the business traveller at a low-to-moderate price). I was pleased that my expectations were met.
My room was fine, but a colleague's was a bit smaller. Some noise came through the walls. These were both things I expected, based on existing reviews, and so they do not rank as big disappointments. (I always carry earplugs for use in hotels, for instance, as noise from neighbors is not uncommon in moderately-priced hotels.)
The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very professional and polite.
The rooms where sort of small, but it served its purpose.
very comfortable bed fantastic location
room was very small - I did not mention it to hotel staff but it appeared to be a 'single' room rather than the 'double' room which I had booked
