They wanted $400.00 deposit and they don't use debit cards for intown rentals. You can only use debit card for flying. You must have an major credit card to rent a car, horrible had to go all the way back home to get credit card

Excellent service. Staff was patient and helpful. It was late at night, past the counter service hours. The staff was manning the booth/office in the parking garage. It was cold and late but the staff was patient, helpful and kind. I especially appreciated their service after my long day of traveling/flying. Also the return was easy. Thank you very much. Ethan and his team did a wonderful job.

I got the other car, I did not opted for it, the breaks were horrible and it was a risk travelling with 2years old kid. As I was struck in Chicago and wanted to earliest leave to Toronto the guys there did not offer me anything g I demanded and I paid huge amount for what j never asked for. I an talking to my credit card company to file dispute against your company and for sure tell give a review with pictures and videos.

Enterprise always offers better service. On this rental, the guy offered me a choice of SUVs and (when I explained I was picking up my kid from college) said he could substitute a minivan at the same price. That worked better for me so I ended up in a nice, new hybrid minivan for the long ride.

Kayak allowed me to make a reservation at an Enterprise location that is closed. The Kayak system did not share my phone number or email with Enterprise so they had no way to contact me until I called after arriving at the closed facility. I then had to walk over a mile in sub-zero temperatures in an unfamiliar city to get to the open location. The Enterprise people were great, but Kayak let me down.

1.5 hour wait... told things I knew were not true. Car smelt like smoke after the detailing smells wore off. Not a fun experience at all and will not use Enterprise again.

Good service. But renting from Enterprise always seems like a process. Great for "neighborhood" renting if you need a car for the day. I'd never use at an airport, National/Avis/Hertz for that.

The person attention was good. On the negative side, Enterprise had terrible and conflicting signage at Midway airport. You have to use the signs for National because in several places there are no Enterprise signs or they direct you to the wrong floor. Also, we had a malfunction warning light go off in the car within 50 miles of starting to drive our Nissan (the light was cryptic, but using the owner's manual, we figured out that it may have something to do with the automatic breaking system-- but nothing about how serious it was or how to fix it). The malfunction warning light then stayed on for the entire rest of the rental, which made us worry, although the car drove fine.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pick up and drop off we’re smooth. There was some trash in the car, under the seats, water bottle and receipts, so they could do better on cleanliness. Overall, a good experience!

It let me book knowing they didn't have any inventory. Seriously Wtf. There were many people that were affected by this. After booking, traveling to the the dollar counter, and then standing in line for 40 minutes the lady in line told us that if we booked today that they didn't have a car for us. What is terrible is that their site always shows inventory - I checked it after that whole experience.

Long Wait for pick up, told at the Register that the car booked was unavailable and to have it must wait for additional hours was a night mare. To save the time we had to upgrade and Pay more , was unexpected and unacceptable. A little courtesy to inform the status of the car ,would have been helpful. To pay the Money I paid , any other comapnay would have brought the car to the Terminal ---- The long wait and asked for addtional wait and availability of an upgraded car ---- all seemed a scam.

There were TWO agents, and well over 100 people in line in front of me. When I finally got to the agent (who was great), there were easily 150 people waiting behind me. There was finally a third agent brought out. It was ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES from the time I arrived at Avis and got my paperwork. The car was fine.

Avis cancelled my rental reservation a couple of days before my trip because they did not have the truck I rented at the location that they had it listed online at. They expected me to go all the way to an airport location to pick up my rental and on top of that for me to pay an additional $1700 more than what the price I reserved it originally for!! HORRIBLE experience in every way!!

Was late picking up my rental due to unforseen circumstances and the gentleman behind the counter stated that they did not have the car that was picked (Ford Mustang) but did give me a vehicle that was a bit of an upgrade (Honda CRV) for the same rental price ... was extremely happy with it ... will definitely keep doing business with them.

Everything was great except for the fee explanations. They didn't tell us that they added gas fees automatically and we filled the tank to avoid those. They removed them after we asked, but it wasn't a super simple process like we'd hoped. Cars were clean and comfy! Everything else was excellent.

Reserved and prepaid for a car more than two weeks in advance the. Was told when I got there that they were out of cars. I waited for over an hour to get a car. When I went to the garage they had double booked that same car. Someone was already in my car. The attendant was able to get me a car but it was a Jeep Wrangler, not exactly the economy car with good gas mileage I had requested. First and last time with Payless. It wasn’t any cheaper than the big guys after they added their counter fee and other service fees to the bill.

Avis/Payless have two different offices/desks, on two different floors. The signs pointed to the wrong location. Also, I was given the wrong location for my rental car. I spent a lot more time and did a lot more walking around with luggage than I should have.

The vehicle was dirty. Why rent a car that isn’t cleaned? Brown crap all over the hood. Not sure if the interior was cleaned because of the perfume smell. There was only 7/8 of a tank of gas.

I will never use Hertz again. Arrived at the time of my reservation. They said the van wasn’t there and would have to wait 2 hours. Then they said I had to go to a different location. They then moved my reservation to the next morning saying the van would be there and ready. Van wasn’t there again. Said it would be an hour. Then they said they were going to rent me a car to drive myself to where the van was so I can rent it from that location. Oh and the van was actually a truck. My move was completely a wash and I wasted over $150 in Ubers trying to pick up the van.

The car was ok. It obviously wasn’t checked for the issue with the driver’s side door. There was a creeking noise. I ended up having to call roadside assistance because the door would not close. I got a text message saying the ETA was 2 minutes. They showed up 3 hours after the initial call. Very poor communication between Hertz and the tow truck company. I was told that I can exchange the car at the airport. There were no cars available at the airport. Clearly there there is no communication between customer service and the rental location. After all was said and done I lost 5 hours because of the poor level of service from Hertz. Very disappointed.

The pick up process was horrible. Didn’t have the car I had reserved. Despite me checking in online, the paperwork process was slow and disorganized. After i agreed to take a different kind of vehicle, no price adjustment was offered. Then, had to re-do the entire pick up process. Only then did they say the type of car I had ordered had been returned, so went through the entire process again. From that point on, everything was fine. Good vehicle. No problem at drop off.

I paid a specific price for the car through Kayak/Priceline. The cost let Hertz select the vehicle. 1. They gave me a small vehicle (despite a lot of inventory) 2. They charged me 30 percent MORE than I paid! I understood the price I pre-paid was paid in full. If I had know it was going to be 30% higher for a compact car, I would have gone elsewhere for price and vehicle certainty! Awful experience, especially as a business traveler!!

We picked up the car in a dirty state 1. There was rubbish including candy wrappers in the rear 2. the front floor and mats were soaking wet and we had to run a fan in the car overnight to dry it out. 3. There was white writing on the left passenger window that we couldnt remove.

The car was fine, but the pricing was not transparent. I wasn't able to reach a person to help me extend my rental nor a true customer service, nor did geographically located offices- all was routed to a call center and was told if I needed to make a change I would have to go to a counter (nearest one 6 hour drive away~!) This lack of accountability and the inability I had in having any sort interaction or answers was extremely frustrating. When I drove to an office counter LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE at Pittsburgh airport, I was told that they had closed it a year before. How does a national company actually not have the time/staff to UPDATE THEIR WEBSITE??? I am baffled and left feeling completely frustrated by it all

Was horrible. Had to wait in line for and hour only to find out they didn’t have the vehicle that I had already paid for. Was traveling with my elderly father-in-law who requires a certain size SUV to be able to get in and out of comfortably. They offered nothing to help out with the situation. Was forced to use Alamo next door, who provided great service and had me in the vehicle I needed in less then 15 min

It’s tiring having a jerk try and charge you insurance without saying anything, then he acts like I’m taking a huge risk not buying $200 worth of Thrifty insurance. I have my own insurance coverage. I’m sure he gets away with it a lot as tired travelers just want to get into a car and go. I think of them as “Thefty” not Thrifty. But the car was fine. I will likely avoid them in the future unless I see a really really great rate.

The one pleasant experience was Shahidah at at the desk when I rented the car. She was very helpful explaining how the toll system had changed in Illinois.She was extremely Professional. Now for the bad. The car stunk. A foul oder was masked by air freshener. After 1.5 hours the air freshener wore off. The car smelled as if someone had changed dirty diapers in the back. In addition, anytime you applied the brakes above 60mph the steering shuttered. I was told I could return the car , but Indianapolis is along way from Chicago. I would spend one day of my vacation driving to Chicago and back. I am afraid this will be the last time I use Fox!

Hours of operation were great. Staff was friendly and prompt. Car was dented, filthy, had broken sunglasses holder that would not close, and one burned out headlight. We were extremely disappointed with the vehicle we received.

An awful experience. Apparently there was some fine print with Priceline restricting where I could drive the vehicle. Because I was driving 2 hours to a nearby state they refused to rent the vehicle. I have no idea where this fine print was in the reservation process but there was no transparency. It was 10pm on Friday night of a holiday weekend and I had to go to one of the big 3 rental agencies and pay the walk up rate. Guess what, the walk up rate was exactly the same as what Fox offered through Priceline. I will never book with Fox again (or go through Priceline).

Fox was good. Easy drop off. Long line to pick up and person at the check in desk let people from back in first which made several customers angry. Didn't care for the car, but that's not a Fox problem, it was a Mitsubishi problem.

Waste of time and money. Great price lured us to this deal just to waste time at the counter and be refused a car after agent did not like our destination. This is a scam with unlimited mileage just to find out that if you leave neighbouroring states you will be fined $2,000. Why can’t be listed next to unlimited mileage?

They claimed that there's no car size which I booked and tried to charge me more for upgading car. I arugued and they eventually only increased a small amount. They said that cleaners called in sick and there's only two car cleaner that day.

National didn't have my SUV available nor would they rent a car to me since I was local and not a distant traveler and booked on the same day. Why did they give the option on the website that a car was available? Wasted my time on Christmas day.

The staff was happy to see and serve me. Good customer service.Even though I called ahead, there were no full-sized trucks on the lot when I arrived. They had to get one from some auxiliary lot and drive it in for me. The truck they grabbed had not been properly cleaned - filthy steering wheels and side windows so dirty that I could not see the side mirrors. National made up for this by giving me a free day of rent (refund), and a deep apology from the management. So I will try them again next time.

I had to trade my first car for another one because I was getting tickets due to the fact that the license plate had expired a month earlier. Both times the pick-up process took forever. The only place to sit in the dingy office is a ledge along the windows. The staff (only two people) was very nice and helpful but clearly overwhelmed. Even though this office is only four blocks from where I live I'm not sure I want to rent from them again.

The pick up was close by but I didnt realize it would not be at the airport. The sign is super small and if your not looking for it you would miss the pick up spot. Our group waited over 30 minutes before they finally picked us up.

A good initial price, but was then increased when they forced me to buy insurance before I could get the keys. The vehicle was in excellent shape and clean.The pickup experience was very frustrating and I will not use this company again.

The car’s front end rattled the whole time. Alignment was off pulling to the right. Drivers door made a rattle like a can of beans the whole time we drove over 60mph. The car was dirty when we received it and had over 10 chips in the windshield. Worst rental I’ve ever had.

The car was ready when I arrivedI was charged more than what my quoted price was, costing me nearly $100 more than anticipated. Car had a broken rear windshield, no ice scraper, and a slow tire leak in the middle of winter.

One lady was super helpful and nice, the rest of the staff I interacted with seemed like they hated everything. The second van I received was in excellent condition on the inside, though dented on the outside.Ended up being about 25% more than the quoted reservation cost with no explanation given. Inconvenient pickup/drop off location, at least for transit/walking. Took a very long time to pickup and drop off despite being the only customer there. First van they were going to give me was FULL of trash in the back. Second one was fine. Otherwise rude staff. put a huge hold on your card, mileage limit for IL residents - they do tell you this upfront when you’re there but it’s a bit sneaky if you’re reserving through a third party site like this. Some other stuff I can’t even think of right now cuz I’m trying to push the whole ordeal out of my head. It was pretty darn cheap though.

We thought we were getting a great deal on a car rental for two weeks. When we arrived at the business to pick up our car, we were charged over $120 more than our initial payment. The reason was (at first) that they had to come and pick us up from the airport. When we pressed into why, the next reason they gave us was because we should have reserved the car through a third party like Expedia. Which we did-through Kayak. The NEXT reason they gave us for charging us so much more was that we came through the airport. Which made zero sense because that's where I filled all the information out at the time of making the reservation. We then asked to see the manager and someone else came out to talk to us. When we asked the woman if she was the manager she said, "well, kind of, but not really, I just help the manager." We then asked again to see the manager. She went back to get him and came back to us and said the manager refused to see us and would not come out front. We then cancelled our reservation. As we were trying to find an Uber to get to another car rental location, another customer was going through the same run around and was being charged over $100 than what all her paperwork said. We call this unethical and bad business and will never recommend this company.

I reserved a car to pick up at the O'Hare airport and was told my pick up was for Midway airport so I was left to rent from a different company and paid twice the price.

nothing. THis was the worst rental company ever. Do not rent from them ever.The company charged me more than the rate I booked through Kayak and refused to honor the rate. Also, they said they have a policy that limits people who rent cars from the same state as them to 350 miles per day vs. unlimited, which is what I booked in my contract. The whole "bait and switch" thing was shady and probably illegal. Also, when I got the car home and started loading stuff into it, I realized the car had never been cleaned. There were food crumbs all over the third row, with dirty napkins and drink cups. The irony is that they made me initial something saying that if I smoked or had a pet in the car, I would need to pay $199 for cleaning but they don't even clean out the cars in between customers. I had to vacuum the car myself before going on my trip.

This is an unethical company. They did not honor their written rental confirmation and left me stranded without a rental car at Midway Airport, and nearly every other car rental company was without vehicles. They provided no justification for failing to live up to their written commitment. Avoid this company!

The car that wasn't there"Reserved" online. It was not made clear that the company was offsite or that a credit card number was necessary to hold the car. Our flight arrived nearly 2 hours late. We took the shuttle to the rental counter only to realize Economy was in a different location. Called both the local number and the toll-free number and got no answer. By the time my phone calls caught up with me it was 12:30 am and the message was that they would hold the car until 10:00. So now we were stuck at Midway. Luckily we were able to rent anothe car but had to cram 6 adults with luggage into 1 car instead of 2 and had to pay a premium price. I would not use Economy again.

The employees of the company are friendly and helpful. The car was new and comfortable.The company has a hidden "mandatory" roadside assistance fee of $100. It is NOT printed on any of the paperwork, nor or is there a notification when making the reservation on Kayak. It doubled the price of my rental, but there was 0 communication upfont. I reserve thru Kayak all the time and expect they would be disappointed in the hidden costs as well.

They didn't have a car for me on Thanksgiving!!Nothing.Worst company ever. Told me they gave out all of their cars the night before thanksgiving and they didn't have any car to give me for my reservation. Had to rent from Avis for $260.00 for 1 day when my reservation with Economy was for $70.00
