Pros (+) The reception area looks swanky but it’s a fur coat and no underwear. Good location for Old and New town
Cons (-) Room was a time machine from the 90’s Shower didn’t work because of ‘pressure issues’. The same ‘pressure issues’ also meant the the hot water failed to come out of the taps unless they were fully opened for at least five minutes and then it took a good 15 minutes to fill the shallow bath. Pros (+) Right off the Royal Mile, this hotel couldn't be in a better place. Comfortable, clean rooms with great views. Funny British ways about electricity - you have to put a hotel key in to a special reader inside the room to turn on the electricity in the room. They really don't want you to leave the lights on when you're not there, I guess. Perfect spot for our stay.
Cons (-) We stayed in two different rooms. The second room had a bathroom that needed some work. It was clean, but some towel bars were showing rust, and the tile needed to be re-caulked.

Pros (+) Great price. Perfect location to walk with luggage from the train station (less than 5 minute walk) and close to a bus stop (less than 10 minute walk) to the airport. Incredibly helpful staff. Clean rooms, well furnished. So pleased.
