The location of this hotel is close to the Planten un Blomen Park and if you are ok walking you can get to most of the downtown places within 15 to 30 minutes. Restaurant for evening meals is good.
I have stayed at the Radisson a few times over the past year for business. My main observation is that the service/quality has dropped. Check in was efficient and I was given a room on the same floor as the business class rooms and for a standard room it had a very nice view (20th floor). I recently became a VIP member of a frequent traveler program and it was only after I checked in and received an email from them asking if I had been informed about my VIP benefits that I realized that maybe my room assignment was partly because of that benefit and they had forgotten to inform me. However upon check out when I asked if my food and beverage had been discounted as per my membership benefits, I had to provide the email as “evidence”. On top of that the discount only applied to meals at the restaurant but not breakfast or minibar drinks. Other things to note: value for money is not as good. For example, many other hotels now have nespresso coffee machines as standard in their rooms. Here it only is available if you book a business class room. Rooms are clean but the bathrooms need upgrading. Breakfast used to have an egg station but that has now gone, although there is a good selection for breakfast items, it is expensive compared to other hotels in money vs selection. Finally there is a significant amount of construction around the area. During my previous stays, taxis were waiting outside the hotel during the mornings but now it seems like they only come through the area for drop off at the train station. I had to wait 20 minutes one morning to get a taxi from there.
Great Choice in Hamburg
Very clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Location is great - near train and subway stations, can walk to restaurants, parks and lake very close.
English TV limited to CNN, Bloomberg, and BBC...other stations in German could not even be close captioned in English. Breakfast at hotel was expensive at 18 euros but may not be bad if you consider it a brunch.
Super location and great value
Perfect location in the beatiful and fun planten Om park and next to a train station that is only one stop from the central station. Can also easily walk downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great value for money!
The shower could have been cleaner
The excellent treat of the hole staff and the confort are the best points of this hotel. The staff is wonderfull, helpfull and they solve us all our doubts and concerns. Very confortable beds and pillows, very nice decoration of bedrooms, quiet, nice views of the hole city, perfect shower. Near enough from city centre and shopping area with a short walk and next to all public transport. Taxis just at the front door all day. Everything was confortable and easy. As an example, they have got a couple of PCs with a direct acces on the main screen were you could print the boarding cards for your trip back. And its free! Really fantastic in all ways.
Nothing at all.
Amazing window view. Special in the Early Morning !
Sound proving of the rooms are very marginal.
It is the perfect Choice, very friendly staff, very clean rooms, a great location next to the botanical Gardens which also close to the city center, only 1 station away!!! It is Just perfect =)
I like the GYM, suana & steam room, I can relax in the sauna after my exercise... cool
Nothing, so far so good
construction, elevators are slow
Modern design rooms, reception & restaurant areas
only 2 lifts out of 6 were in operation, noise from 8am to 8pm, general feeling of 'a hotel under reconstruction'.
We got a cheap rate through booking dot com and we thought it was quite luxurious for that price.
The internet access did not work while we were there.
the staff were very friendly and the renovated rooms were nicely done but the building work meant it was not comfortable to stay in the hotel
The renovation work meant it was noisy and dirty in the corridor areas. In the room there was a lot of plaster on the windowsill which had come down from the buidling work above. The phone did not work and the wireless connection was very slow.
I can’t believe that a hotel could keep receiving guests while they are doing a major renovation with loud, annoying noise, disturbing guests in the entire building. They have been doing this even on Saturday!

High-speed internet access via WLAN (1,000 Mbps) is free of charge as well as access to the fitness center and sauna area. The hotel’s conference floor on 2,422 m² and the exclusive event location “High End” with a breathtaking view on the 26th/27th floor offer multi-functional space for meetings and events.
