Pros:Horrible experience but the location was excellent for shopping, dining choices and highway access.
Cons:After checking in, we went to our room and the first thing we noticed was that the screen on our window had been cut. As we walked in, we saw that the chain lock had been ripped out of the wall and door as well. We then checked the window with the cut screen and it was not secure at all. It appeared that someone tried to break in through the window and kicked the door in or used enough force on the door to rip the metal chain lock apart and off the door/wall. It did not feel safe, especially because we were traveling with children. My husband first went to front desk and explained what it looked like and that we did not feel safe in that room because the window and door did not lock. The manager/owner told him there was nothing he could do and he would call a maintenance man and "IF" he was available he would fix it but he lived far away and probably wouldn't come. I then went down to the front desk myself and explained that I did not feel safe in that room especially with my children. He told me that I did not need to worry about it, it was fine and the area we were in was safe. Mind you there were transients on every corner begging for money and right in front of the motel. When I insisted I did not feel safe he told me without looking at the window or door that the cleaning people just washed the windows and must have damaged the screen. When I said it looked like much more than that he told me again there was nothing he would do about it and that I already got a free upgrade (which I did not, I got the exact room I booked online and paid for) so he couldn't help me. I told him I did not want an upgrade, I simply wanted a safe/secure room. Again he told me not to worry about it. Very upset, I returned to the room to figure out what we were going to do. Then the manager/owner was standing outside the window looking at us, looking into the room and making eye contact with us then looking away then doing it again. We sat there for a minute waiting for him to Go away or knock on the door. When he didn't do either, my husband went out there and said "hello??" At that point the manager/owner said we were lucky he moved a bunch of people around and found us another room and acted like it was a huge inconvienence to him and he did us a big favor. When I tried to show him the screen and chain lock he said "yah, yah" and wouldn't even look at it. We then moved everything into the other room which had crusty stains all over the carpet, brown/green splatter on the ceiling, mold on the bathroom floor, ripped carpet, dents/chips/holes all over the doors and walls, ect. That night when we got in bed to go to sleep after a long day, we realized that the one and only blanket we had was soaking wet. So the sheets, and mattress were wet as well. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in and would never ever ever go back!!! Never ever!!!
