The location is great, staff is super friendly.
The floors were quite dirty. I am sure they would have cleaned it if I had asked.
You get what you pay for
One of the more reasonably priced hotels within a 15-minute walk to Old Montreal. Free continental breakfast delivered to your room at a time of your choice.
No on-site parking. Street parking is expensive ($3/hour!) - we ended up parking in a garaged lot 3 blocks away ($22/day). The hotel clerk told us of a cheaper garage, but it wasn't open. It was most inconvenient. Very tiny room, with just enough space between the bed and the wall to get across the room. The side of the toilet is so close to the wall that you have to sit on an angle. Breakfast was basic - a cold roll, not-very-fresh croissant, coffee, and pre-packaged juice. OK for a one-night stay, but for an extended stay definitely look elsewhere. Not a clean nor attractive neighborhood
Hotel St. Andre
Very good location, clean room although it took me a long time to convince myself that it's ok. Very nice front desk clerk and surprisingly quiet.
With some small cosmetic changes they could make this a very nice place. Paint the walls, change the electric outlets and lights, change the carpets, paint the doors and jazz-up the lobby
Simple, safe and convenient at a GREAT value
I have stayed here on multiple trips to Montreal. The hotel is very basic, but offers a simple, safe and convenient stay at a very reasonable rate. I don't visit a city to stay in my room, so the basics are all I need. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is just off St. Catherine and offers great access to the main Metro station. The surrounding neighborhood can seem a little rough at times, but this hotel seems very safe.
Construction was going on on both sides of the hotel (Nov 2016), but once in my room I never heard any of it and it did not cause any problems.
Great location, short on comfort
This hotel couldn't be in a better location, and the staff is very helpful. We especially enjoyed the breakfast delivery and very comfortable beds.
The elevator does not go up to the third floor, which was somewhat annoying, and the hotel itself seems to suffer a strange shortage of pillows.
Good Modern Hotel in Center of Montréal
1. Room was spacious. 2. Continental breakfast brought to the room each morning. 3. Just a couple blocks from one of the main metro stations. 4. Manager took care of things promptly. 5. Good price / value. 6. Good heating. 7. WiFi reliable. 8. Very quiet (with a double window). 9. Bed comfortable. 10. I would certainly stay here again.
1. Had major problem one night with the new night watchman, but the manager straightened everything out the next morning, so shouldn't be an issue anymore for you. 2. Immediate neighborhood has many transient characters on the streets, (as do many hotels anywhere in this downtown Montréal I suppose). Not a problem for me, but maybe a concern for you. 3. Decor is a bit drab. 4. Bathtub needs some Draino to drain faster.
Helpfull staff; location
Clean up the hallways
I think it is a good place for short visit to Montreal
The room was more spacious than I thought it would be.
The communal bottle of shampoo.
Todo muy bien,la gente de recepción muy atenta, habitación limpia, parking gratis, wifi y situado muy cerca del metro y del centro para recorrerlo a pie. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Muy recomendable
The hotel was quiet despite being in a very active neighborhood. It is located within a couple of blocks to a major Metro hub that made travel around the city very quick and convenient. Supplementing the supplied coffee, bread and croissant breakfast (very fresh) with fruit and cheese from the market helped get us on our way quickly in the morning.
location is great
room was not clean beer cans and food left inside the draws
Helpful attitude of the staff at reception.
The check-in time is too late specially those arriving in an early morning flight.
Good location near the Bus Terminal, and easy walk to the Metro, with a good rate.
Rooms a bit small, although probably to be expected for a building of this age. One simple thing that could be done would be to have a trash can in the main room, rather than only one in the bathroom.
The location is great ~ within walking distance of many sites as well as being close to two metro stations. No difficulty finding places to eat or shopping in the vicinity. Continental breakfast every morning, delivered to the room, was a nice touch.
Excellent and helpful attitude of hotel staff.
Parking, while provided, was difficult to access with my vehicle, due to its length.
Liked the situation within the Quartier Latin, and the staff who were very helpful and friendly. I also liked the the price-inclusive breakfast delivered to your bedroom (there's no dining room)
A few niggles with the room: the air conditioning unit was not powerful enough for the room, yet was very noisy; the shower door leaked, and the overhead light in the bathroom did not work. (However, I did not report any of these problems to the staff, but suspect that they would have tried to put them all right).
