The day before our trip a rep from Budget called to say they would not have a car for us and lease don't show up at their location ( not at airport). He said to call customer service and change my reservation to the airport as they would have cars. I called the toll free number and explained to the helpful rep what the conversation had been with the Budget location. She happily changed my reservation from that location to the airport - then informed me that my $147 reservation was now $538. She said that after the rental I could call customer service and request a refund. I hung up and thought through that conversation. I called customer service back, got a new person and explained the whole scenario again. He said "I only see your current reservation at the airport." I went through it again. He said "the reservation is at the airport for $538. There is no other history." Felt extremely scammy and dishonest. He could have cares less about the situation. I then cancelled my reservation and have vowed to never rent from Budget again.

Worst rental car ever. The car had many issues with its sensors and when the rental location was informed that the vehicle was dangerous to drive they could not care less.

The reservation of a small car was confirmed online even though at the location there were only pick-up trucks. So I had to take one, and it's very cumbersome with terrible mileage. I wish the online booking worked more accurately with what is really available at a specific location.

Car drove from Quebec to Montreal with no problem. Comfortable and quiet.It was a very stressful experience returning the car. It was downtown Montreal (Place Desjardins--Blvd Rene Levesque/Jeanne Mance) and one street was blocked off for a festival. Our GPS also kept trying to take us on the opposite side of the rental office. The office was closed, so we just gave it a shot to call a hotel nearby, the Hyatt Regency. Luckily the man on the phone gave us a clear route down St. Urbain (one way street) to find the office (a small sign outside a parking garage). So call that hotel if you get lost! The office was down in the parking garage. There was no sign of where to put the car, except a space with a bunch of cars with a rope across it. We decided to just unhook the rope and park it there. It also took us awhile to find the key drop (a inconspicuous pipe with a lid over it). A sign with an indication "key drop" would be helpful.

ExcellentI've done over a dozen car rentals in my life and without a doubt, this was the easiest and fastest I've ever had. No upselling, or trying to get my to pay for an upgrade when my reservation was out, I was driving within 3 minutes of walking into the place. They let me switch return locations by phone no hassles at all.

No employees at the drop-offConvenient location, I guess.The drop-off location was in the bottom level of a garage under a hotel. There was a door requiring a code, which I was not given, so I had to park on the street and go up to the hotel desk, who eventually sent a porter down to open the door for me. Once I got inside I found a budget office on the bottom level with the door open, but no employees anywhere to be found. After waiting for 15 minutes and not seeing anyone I decided to just leave my receipt and the keys in the car. I had not filled the gas tank and was hoping to ask the employee what the charge would be so I could judge if I wanted to take the car back out and find a gas station before handing the keys over or if it wasn't worth it, but obviously was unable to do that. Upon seeing my adjusted bill yesterday, I see that they charged me $122 for what could only have been at most 8 gallons of gas.
