Communication among staff was poor. We booked a brunch reservation for 14 at Harry’s restaurant weeks in advanced for our 40th Anniversary family gathering but we were knocked out by a Company who booked the entire restaurant even though we had email & text confirmation the night prior. Text indicated table for 8 only. We were accommodated on rooftop Darlings brunch buffet restaurant which charges $75/ person which the assistant manager said this fee would be waived however the manager was surprised to learn. However in the end for all their mistakes the brunch was free. I must say though the food was subpar. Soupy eggs, run of the mill salmon, Bloody Mary with no ice, mediocre bagels. Single waiter staff was not very attentive. We had to clear off our own table of plates as we prepared it for a celebration cake. Was thinking had we had the brunch at Harry’s instead would the a la carte food been that poor as well? One more point. Access to Darlings was cumbersome. Elevator to 46th floor then 2 levels of stairs. Not recommended for the elderly although there is a one floor elevator which they let us utilize. No bathrooms at top either. Suggest they redesign this “rooftop” area. Loved the lower hotel layout, bar area, outdoor area & access to premises from 57th & 56th streets.
