Surprisingly good rate for this prime Central Park South location. Could use updating but was comfortable and quiet.
Ice and coffee all extra. And there is an unavoidable facility fee.
Fabulous location
The hotel is very well-located. It's close to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Grand Central Station, MOMA and Central Park. All these are a short walk away. Saks 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Plaza are across the road, the Apple Store and Bloomingdales are also close. It's not quite so well-located for the Guggenheim and the Frick Galleries. There is a much longer walk to these places, but if you don't mind taking a taxi or an Uber, it's fine. The main public spaces have their original 1920s decoration and are lovely! We got a great value deal, which made the hotel a steal!
The bathroom in our standard room was tiny. Literally not enough room to swing a cat. Not good enough for a hotel of this quality. The main bedroom was easily large enough to make the bathroom bigger. It's possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever had in any hotel. I'm not sure it's possible to make it any smaller and still be functional. Decoration of the corridors and rooms is not up to the standard of the entrance lobby, and the bars. It's not bad, it's just pretty characterless by comparison not only with the rest of the hotel, but also of comparable hotels. It's tasteful, well-maintained and spotlessly clean, but just very... characterless... There is no free wifi! I was amazed at this. This is one thing that you expect at every hotel, even cheap ones. Trying to charge $15 for it is a rip-off. Unfortunately, the room was noisy. You expect traffic noise in New York, and you get used to it. You don't expect constant plant noise from the Kitchen. If we had spent longer in the room, this may have been a real problem for us. The staff are great. the hotel is well-staffed and they are all professional, courteous and attentive. Based on our short stay, I would definitely recommend the Lotte Palace.
Lovely hotel and stay. Bathrooms are dated.
Lovely room- 41st floor great view even though we had a had a southeast facing room. Courteous service.
Not sure what the resort fee 35/pp goes towards. Not really a resort- but u have to pay it. Not included in the Expedia price. Had I known- prob could have had a better hotel. also-overwhelming horse poop smell right across the way. Not their fault-but it's there.
Run down room was no where near as nice as website photos.
Location is absolutely excellent.
The room was small and dingy/run down - but clean. the a/c/heat did not respond well to temp changes. It reminded me of an old unrenovated best western. certainly NOT what the luxurious photos in the website lead one to believe.
Location is great but the customer service was not
The location of the hotel is perfect, On the edge of Central Park minutes from 5th avenue shopping. There are some restaurants nearby too. If you are interested in doing something touristy the horse and carriage rides are right outside.
Where to begin. I was only there for one night and it was extremely expensive. On top of that they charged me a $35.00 "facilities fee" which was for WiFi, cocktail happy hour, and other amenities. I used the WiFi which worked fine but the cocktail happy hour was a disaster, very disorganized and the staff wasn't super pleasant. I wish I had the choice of adding on these extras. Also, upon check-in the key machine was not working so I was not authorized a room key. Each time I needed to go into my room I had to ask someone; one time I was waiting in the hallway for 30 minutes until someone showed up. It could've been a better experience.
My Stay,
The staff was very accommodating. My son had to rehearse for a concert he was playing in and the Manager allowed him to use a Ball Room that was not in use. We greatly appreciated that. Also, the evening reception was very nice.
The bathroom could be cleaner. There were chipped tiles and the faucet was lose.
Great location but the rooms really need an update
The staff was friendly and the location was great. The guest services were pretty quick: We had issues with the first room and were quickly moved upon request. One of our charge ports stopped working and it was quickly replaced. Lamp shades were dusty and were quickly cleaned upon request.
The rooms are really outdated and truly need to be updated, ESPECIALLY the bathrooms. We had to request a move from the first room due to the tub leaking. The sinks and tubs are chipped and the tubs don't drain well (both rooms). The lamps were dusty and some were broken. The hallways are a bit dark and carpet looks dingy. There is a mandatory facility fee that includes calls, wifi, etc...that is overpriced and totally not worth it.
Room
Large
Thermostat didn't work so tbe temperature was 80 degrees all day. Couldn't call front desk BC phone didn't work. Old towels were in room
Location was perfect! They have a house car that can take you to the airport or pick you up. We had a king room that was beautifully decorated and so spacious. Would definitely stay here again.
There were a couple of spots that were stained on the shower curtain and on the down comforter. However, I never felt that these things weren't clean there were just some spots. The knobs on the shower were backwards and the facet was slanted so it was sometimes difficult to turn the shower off. This doesn't take away from the fact that the shower felt absolutely amazing!
The room was overlooking Central Park and very enjoyable. My Grandaughter(10) and I were so impressed by the hotel service. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Best NY trip ever! Central to everything
You see and hear everything in NY. Its a life experience !
The view was the best.
Bathrooms small & could use upgrade but clean.
Location, location, location...very beautiful view of Central Park, comfortable stay and wonderful and curtious staff...walking distance to everything!
$9 cost for a domestic beer at the bar in the hotle -- Harry's
Very stylish and intelligent
Everything was perfect, location is a significant adventure
Excellent excellent, I booked this hotel for my husbands 50th birthday. I had booked a room overlooking central park and they did not disappoint the view was superb. Everything was fabulous from start to finish. highly recomended.
Location an view.
None.
It was a great location but the lobby and hotel in general did not endow a feeling of opulance that the fees would suggest.
Ambiance
Fantastic location elegant and relaxed atmosphere and very helpful stass.
Initially no view that I was expecting from window but that was sorted out very effectively.
kept my luggage for 10 days whilst I travelled to a different climate and thee rooms quite large Positionexcellent
decor a bit tired but would rather keep this then refurb and higher price
Perfect location, wonderful view, friendly staff. A nice spot if you can afford it.
Asked for a non-smoking room and was given a smoking one. However the problem was immediately fixed. Breakfast prices are ridiculous. Hopefully there is a Sarabeth's next door where you get excellent breakfasts.
Location,
the hotel needs an upgrade. I think it is happening now. Their restaurant was closed for renovation. Room was old looking
