Friendly staff. Nicely decorated
They should really install an elevator...
Great Location, Noisy rooms and hotel
Modern Amenities Excellent Location
Cramped rooms Noisy location Not business friendly No Early check-in
Great location Boutique feel
Room decor and finishes felt high end. Staff was great. Loved the location shopping and restaurants.
Mattress was not comfortable.
Location is really good, close to subway stations. Fancy and stylish, nice design. King size room is spacious, heated floor in the bathroom, home management system via TV (heating, lights, room requests). Luggage-porter and utility man are kind and always there to help, good fellas. Nice selection of restaurants around.
$250 deposit. No elevator. Receptionists are arrogant. Our room (422s) was so noisy (ice machine in the hall, some noisy appliance attached to the wall, etc.) even through earplugs, we requested to move, but we were kinda pushed to upgrade instead (we were told by the receptionist, that other queen size rooms are even smaller and just as noisy), a compensation would have been nice (like upgrade is free for one night for the inconveniencies), and there are hidden charges) even after stating by the receptionist there are none) like Upgrade NYC Sales Tax - 8.875% and Upgrade State Tax - 5.875%. Home management system is slow and laggy.
SOHOTEL ....A GREAT FIND!!!
I booked this hotel on Kayak after looking at the reviews. It was a phenomenal find. The staff is so polite and helpful. There was parking right up the street. The rooms are small but almost all are in NYC unless you want to pay for the space. Hopefully, you're out and about enjoying the City. The linens and bedding were very clean. They did a fantastic job renovating the oldest standing hotel in NYC. We plan on making it our hotel of choice when visiting.
No complaints here.
Rooms extremely small and squashed, very noisy both from street noise and internal noise through the walls, very expensive for room. No breakfast facilities.
The bed is super comfy and the location is great: little Italy, Chinatown, Soho - so many choices at your doorstep for breakfast is mind blowing!
The rooms are fairly small, if you are tired for a day and want to stay in it can get a bit claustrophobic!
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was super clean.
My room was on top of a pub and on saturday the music was very loud and O couldn't sleep. Plus the nearest subway station was not very nice, at night I would be a little afraid to go there if I was alone. But an option is to walk a little more and pick up the subway in some other station.
Location brilliant, staff excellent especially porters. Very clean. Beds extremely comfortable with good fresh linen. Housekeeping staff excellent. Would stay again really enjoyed my stay.
The room is beginning to look a little 'tired'. Sink cracked. furniture scuffed and the walls were marked a little in places.
How close it was to shopping, sites and restaurants.
Good quality rooms, pleasant staff, and excellent location.
It was fairly easy to access from the subway and was right in the trendy side of the city - near Soho and Little Italy which was perfect for finding little boutiques or cafe's that can make decent coffee!
The steep staircase didn't make it luggage friendly!
Location is OK, considered a safe area and near to the subway. There is a air conditioner in the room and with private bathroom, which is hard to get for that kind of price in Manhattan.
There is no elevator for a 4-5 storeys hotel!!! I dragged my 20kg luggage to the reception on second floor, then to my room on 4th floor. If you are a backpacker where you carry everything on your back, I guess its fine.
