Cons: It smelled like someone had thrown up in the hallway. I believe the cleaning staff tried to clean it up as best they could but the smell lingered.

Cons: Our room was really small especially the shower. We both banged our arms on it trying to shower. Not what we are used to.

Cons: On street parking was a little unnerving but turned out fine. It seems that after 6:30pm free parking on the streets is a free-for-all in Reykjavik with anything goes.

Cons: The location was a bit further from the city than anticipated, it's listed as a medium walking distance, it is walkable, just not desirable on cold/rainy nights, approximately 20kr cab ride. The dinner buffet was fairly expensive and we didn't really care for it, we preferred the restaurants around the corner or in town and the cost was similar or less, potentially regular ordering tasted better than the buffet. No shampoo/conditioner/lotion, I always bring my own, but wanted to note.

Cons: The staff was not very accommodating at all. I reserved a superior room with a double bed, and they gave us 2 twin beds. After speaking with the front desk, all they could tell us was that they are fully booked, and that you're never guaranteed the type of bed you want, but we could push the 2 twin beds together if we'd like. No, thank you. We were only staying there for one night, so we decided not to push the issue. Checkout is at noon, but after reading the hotel info they provide you with in the room, I saw they offer late checkout at 2pm as an option. So, that evening I called the desk to request late checkout, and the woman I spoke with could not give me a yes or no. She said I have to speak with the day staff. I called at 8am the following morning and the woman informed me again that they are fully booked. Ok, but I'm just asking to check out at 2pm. Check in for any new guests is at 4pm. That still gives cleaning crew 2 hours to get the room ready for any new guests arriving. I even tried to compromise and say can we at least stay until 1pm? We were catching the shuttle to the airport at 2pm from the hotel, and didn't have anywhere to go for 2 hours if we checked out at noon. She told me they could hold our luggage and we could go downtown and shop. No, I'm not risking missing the airport shuttle because you told me to go to town and spend $$. So after me asking the same question in 4 different ways, she finally said ok, you can check out at 1pm. Well wow! Thanks a million, Grand Hotel. We won't be staying with you on our next trip to Iceland.

Cons: Bed was rather uncomfortable Lack of TV channels Interactive TV features simply don't work

Cons: Room was very warn, sheets did not fit the bed and furniture was dirty. Staff was not friendly. The hotel was not inexpensive and was probably the second worst I have ever stayed in. I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel.

Cons: The staff did mess up our tour reservation once and we had to ask management time and again for something to be done about it. The desk in the room had some coffee stains and the shower door does not prevent the water from going all over the bathroom! Plus the hotel was definitely a bit distant from city center.

Cons: Location was a bit away from the city centre. Taxi cabs are very expensive.

Cons: The only downside is you aren't right downtown but it's tough to say really what downtown actually is. It's such a big sprawl of a city so it's in Reykjavik but just not the heart I guess, they have a shuttle to make up for this.

Cons: Walls were a little thin, but it's a hostel so I didn't go into the experience expecting a quiet evening alone.

Cons: The only thing that didn't work was th TV in our room. When the staff couldn't seem to fix it we were given vouchers for a beverage of our choice from the bar. It worked out just fine, instead of sitting in our room we went out and about the city and had a great time, better than TV any day!

Cons: Breakfast is a barely mediocre buffet for 3000isk (about $30) a person

Cons: It was discribed as having a pool which was not accurate because you had to pay extra for that tried to stay one night and cancel the other nights were told couldn't do it with out paying full price, won't book through kayak again

Cons: Having a double bed which have two beds pushed together was uncomfortable and as a couple we like to be close when we sleep. On this occasion having two single duvets just made this uncomfortable. On check in they told us they were overbooked and that we should chose another of their hotels. The member of staff was rude and talking in Icelandic to other members of staff which made us uncomfortable. We ended up with a room upgrade because of the situation however this is not what we needed after a long day travelling.

Cons: The restaurant wasn't that great, (underdone chicken), waitstaff wasn't friendly, especially if your breakfast wasn't part of the package. The spa staff gave contradictory information to reception staff, so better communication would've been helpful .

Cons: The extra charges for breakfast were quite high.

Cons: Some cracks showing on the walls in the bedroom and the shaving mirror didn't light up show that it needs a little bit of attention on the maintenance front but nothing that impacted my comfort. The pillows were feather and were not very comfortable for me as I prefer a firmer synthetic pillow.

Cons: Because of the central location, space is tight. The room offers minimal storage and the bathroom has a convertible shower that takes advantage space. The design was beautiful but the quarters were close. The breakfast was OK. It was the first meal I had where fish was not an option. The crumbled eggs were dry and actually crunchy. Bacon was either burnt or raw. However, the view from the top of the hotel easily distracted these inconveniences.

Cons: We weren't notified in advance that Centerhotel had moved us to another hotel. We were exhausted from traveling and would have appreciated nothing more than going to sleep at the hotel we booked. The staff at the Arnarhvoll did order a taxi that took us to the new hotel. The hotel we were bumped to, Centerhotel Plaza, was in a better location in the downtown.

Cons: Having to pay to park your car even though it belonged to the hotel . Very expensive for all the bars and restaurants .

Cons: Make sure you get to breakfast on time. Close doors exactly at 9:30 and by 9:15 slim pickings on options. It could be that it is early but staff wasn't that welcoming for breakfast. Just basic offerings - toast, cereal, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt. Was fine for us but for those who like a hot breakfast it isn't available They cut fruit in half so for those of you who like to grab and apple for later in the day that isn't an option.

Cons: Although I didn't experience any noise (staying early in the week), I could foresee noise issues near the weekend and in the summer.

Cons: No way to wash our clothes, no hot tub and only five channels to choose from

Cons: The desk staff were very rude with the exception. Of the night desk person who was great. The day staff were very disrespectful and could have cared less about customer service.

Cons: Parking was hard to find. That is to be expected when staying in any downtown area. Dining is expensive everywhere in Iceland. For a one in a lifetime place to see. It was still worth it.

Cons: The water seems to be a bit sulfuric (probably from how the city gets their water).
