Pros: The hotel is very funky and fun. There is a built in restaurant, cafe and pastry shop, 2 bars, and they provide a free shuttle to and from local nightlife. the room was nice. Nothing fancy but everything was clean and it smelled amazing. My wife and I decided to remodel our house using some of the unique stylings from the hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. They have an all you can eat buffet for breakfast with all the standard fare but also a custom omelette bar and a Bloody Mary bar. I would highly recommend if you aren’t looking for fancy and want your hotel stay to be as fun as your vacation.

Pros: I loved this hotel. It has the vibe of a bed and breakfast. The building is historic but has been beautifully decorated and remodeled. The staff was very nice and helpful. We took their shuttle to our venue and when we ready to be picked up they were there in minutes to give us a ride back. The room and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, but goes in line with the historic feel of the place. I would definitely stay hear again.

Pros: The location is close to restaurants, bars, museum, and colleges. Unfortunately that attracts groups of people that are there to party and stay up all night.
Cons: After we discovered that our neighbors brought their own stereo with sub-woofer and invited all their friends to hang out in their room, we tried to move rooms. We were not moved and had to call the front desk more than 20 times over the next couple of hours to try and resolve this issue. No luck. The front desk was completely incapable of resolving this issue. I guess 20 year old college students that work at the hotel aren't capable of controlling the behavior of their guests. if you're lucky enough to have quiet neighbors, the hotel is alright. If not, then be prepared for a long night.

It's our favorite local hideaway for a staycation - the room service might as well be a dining experience in & of itself. The rooms are romantic - relatively regal for the price - you simply don't care to leave them.
Cons: It's no the fault of the facility - truly. You have to resign yourself to the fact that you are in a popular area - and there is a rooftop bar (The Canopy) at the hotel. The operations surrounding the place can get loud early - but nothing some music or TV can't drown out. If you're having the fun you should be - it won't be an issue.

Pros: Staff was very welcoming and this had the feeling of a luxury business hotel. We needed a King with a pull out couch, and after a problem with the first room we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite with a separate bedroom. This made the stay very comfortable--I wish we had stayed here more nights. This hotel is tucked in a business park area with not many cars passing by.
Cons: There isn't much around this hotel, which might be why it felt so quiet.

Ive stayed at some other hotels with breakfast for what I got charged.TV is 32 inch which I think is small. No water in the room. There are 2 sets of bath and hand towels which I think They should put more If some people bath 2x a day. Loud in the morning. I thought they were guests talking outside but they were housekeepers. I didnt feel the friendly vibes with the staffs. They dont make eye to eye contact. When we checked out the lady at the front desk was using her phone maybe it wasn’t busy.

Pros: When there was no Sweet N Low in the room for coffee and they ran out downstairs; we let the front desk know and due to housekeeping would have been 20 minutes; the girl from the front desk brought it to our room herself within 5 minutes. Requested pool towel replacement for an evening of swimming and it was fairly busy; housekeeping was out there within 5 minutes stocking up. Really good accommodations. This Hilton goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant! P.S. - Publix and a few restaurants were right in the park, which was an added bonus!

Pros: The room was quite spacious and amazing: we had a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, a small, glass-top stove, a dishwasher, and a microwave. The TV was set up to swivel around to the living room-type area or to be viewed from the king size bed (which was unfathomably comfortable). The water in the shower stayed a constant temperature the entire time, which is always nice. We're pretty sure we had a wheelchair-accessible room, so that may account for some of the roominess (as well as the hand rails in the bathroom). Breakfast the first day was ham and cheese omelets, sausage patties, and home fries one day, and scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage the next, which is in addition to the usual assortment of breads, bagels, muffins, waffle makers, coffees, teas, yogurts, juices, milk, cereals, etc. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, they do "socials" where they serve complimentary meals, wine, and beer. We only ate there one of the two nights, which was Italian or Polish sausages on buns and hamburgers and a modest salad bar. The pool looked amazing, but we stayed in February during one of the coldest weeks this winter so far, so we didn't use it. The location would have been great if we had been in town for a Tampa Bay Rays game; Tropicana Field is easily within walking distance.
Cons: Our phone rang at 1:30 AM or so the first night, and no one at reception seemed to know why the next morning. Also, the hotel is U-shaped, and our room was on the far side of the U from reception (minor inconvenience, though). Other than those two minor things, there really isn't much to complain about. I may book a block of rooms here for guests for my wedding.

Cons: The elevators were really sketchy. One was really old and creaky. My boyfriend got stuck in the other one for 20 minutes with sporadic electricity and physical jolting. When he finally made it off, he went to the front desk. They only gave him a neutral statement a la "glad you made it off." No apology, no indication that it would get fixed. He said they didn't even seem surprised by the incident.

Cons: Very clean hotel and you can smell it even at the hallway. The bed linens and bath towels are also new. The breakfast is very good and you can tell they serve fresh food. Staff are very friendly even the housekeepers tries to greet us even they're busy. Amenities are complete including a very nice pool. The location is not too far away from downtown St Pete but still has to be driven. A very comfortable stay for sure!

Cons: My deluxe room was changed for a regular room with no explanation and I was charged the same price. I didn't care to make a fuzz but extremely unprofessional from the location. Staff was pushy with the wifi and even though advertised as part of the package they tried to charge 12$ a night for wifi. There was also some sort of issue with the police on the night of one of my stays.

Breakfast was mediocre and staff seemed frazzled and confused.

Cons: When it stormed I had to park in a bank parking lot around the corner which made it for a very undesirable walk. When I pulled into the bank parking lot the attendant refused to let me park stating he had no idea what I was talking about. 2nd issue. The first front desk woman that checked us in was amazing. So helpful and nice! You could tell she really enjoys her job. The front desk girl who checked us out was horrible. She checked us out on Sunday August 31st. I asked the lady a couple questions about the area and she couldn't answer anything and appeared to not wanted to be bothered. I understand you have a concierge but he wasn't available. Please educate your guests a little about the area. Like recommendation on a nice restaurant. 3rd issue. The room was huge but I stepped in something that was very slimy. It appeared to be maple syrup which was all over the floor. I have stayed there before and had a better experience

Also, we had to pay extra for everything - parking was $16 a night , and for the price of a room it would have been nice to have some form of complimentary breakfast. I guess the more you pay, the more you have to pay. They made a big point of letting us know that the ice was complimentary, which made me laugh because where in this country is it not?

Cons: The staff, while friendly, seemed more apt to give excuses rather than solve problems, the hours of operation advertised contradicted the actual hours of each resturant, and although the website claims parking is available, the hotel does not actually have their own parking.

Pros: It's a great price, but it's the same price as the Avalon and Hollander. But.... those places strive to be the best even at the discounted price.
Cons: First impression was the musty/moldy smell of the building. Then there was the 18" TV. This is the same size as my office computer monitor and smaller than the monitor for the receptionist. The cable wire itself was just hanging across the room, not mounted, not trying to be disguised in any way. Wrong remote for the TV so you couldn't access the guide, sleep timer or screen size. Had to watch NBA playoff game where it looked like this "CAVS 68 BOS" because Boston's score was cut off from the TV being stuck in zoom mode. Turned the hot water on for 10 minutes and finally got in. Used 0 cold water and it was still basically a cold shower. Front desk said I probably just needed to play around with the hot water handle a little more. That doesn't explain no hot water in the sink either.

Cons: This place is a complete joke and a scam. I booked a luxury room with a queen bed and bath. I drove 2 hours from fort Myers and when I arrived there to check in they told me that I was being moved to their "Sister Property" . When we walked up to the "sister property" that was about 5 blocks away it was a house not even a hotel. The room that the lady escorted us to had holes and nails hanging out Where pictures were at some point, the bed was a pull out, A microwave sitting on top of a desk, and she gave me a key to the PUBLIC BATHROOM! And the Ponce De Leon was going to try and charge me the same price that I had originally booked for. I demanded my money back and left instantly.

Pros: Going in with low expectations is the key to a satifying stay at the Ponce de Leon. More unimproved that the term "Botique" would suggest, this is the destination for the seasoned traveller who has endured rough edges and no amenities for a great location. The desk staff was superb but the housekeeping is the worst with no coffee supply or toiletries restock after check-in and no sheet change in four nights. All in all, it's a great way to be in the best part of downtown, save a few bucks and relive old mempries of the seedier side of that trip to China.

Pros: I liked the front desk staff. They are all very nice and helpful. They gave me great restaurant advice, helped with my various questions and were polite. I loved the old Spanish style look and feel of the place. And you can’t beat that location!
Cons: I wished my room was bit cleaner. Dust bunnies, cob webs, filthy windows. It needs a deep cleaning and probably a new bed. The interior felt very worn down and neglected, unfortunately.

Cons: For starters the staff had clear issues on the basic checkin and check out process. Luckily my room was ready in time however many other guests were asked to wait. Upon getting the room it was adequate for our one night stay smaller than described in pictures but big enough for two all the same. However I requested and lid for a late check out as I was competing in a triathlon the following day. I paid the $25 and upon waking up the next morning to shower discovered the shower didn’t work and mentioned it on our way out at 5:45 am by noon when i returned nothing had been done so I packed my wife and i’s things and left. They showed no sign of care that shower didn’t work at all and gave an attitude about refunding the $25 for the late check out fee since I wouldn’t be using it so I could shower after my race. Long story short staff was awful and the facilities were sub par... two stars

Stayed two nights, somehow my reservation got messed up and they made me move to a different room they said was less expensive. Other than a different floor they were about the same.

Pros: After reading some reviews i was thinking i may have made a mistake. However when i got there i was very pleased yes its an older building and not your typical hotel. If you haven't been to Europe you may think this is different. However it is a typical European style hotel. The location is perfect walking distance to all the bars restaurants. I think it was great. Its a hotel to sleep not to have a vacation. i'd describe it as a clean place to crash with a great location.
Cons: The night front desk blond lady and another lady are were not friendly and i'd say rude. Very different than the morning lady i think she is Thai. She was very nice compared to these night ladies. Restaurant was price for the food they served.

Cons: Rooms smelling like an industrial ashtray. People yelling, runing and shouting till 3.30AM. Drunk people on the stairs and the pool. Kids smoking bongs in a room next to the pool with the door open while I walked by with my 3 Y.O. daughter. Maybe it's a place to get wasted during spring brake but definitely IT IS NOT A FAMILY HOTEL. DIRTY, SMELLY, NOISY, UNSAFE.
