The resort is beautiful, right on the beach (seaweed was a problem) with a beautiful clear view of the ocean. The hotel room we stayed in was on the top level 14 conveniently next to the hilltop pool with swim up bar. Each hotel room has a balcony with two chairs and a table that faces the sea. Although our room lacked warm water for our showers but it might of been a common problem being in the highest level of rooms in the entire resort. Now for some not so cool things. The main office building, restaurant, coffee shop and pool are located on the beach level. Therefore most all hotel rooms require a shuttle (golf carts) to attend. Shuttle wait times run from 10 minutes to 25 minutes depending on your location in the resort. When we arrived to check in we were escorted to the vacation club desk for " Indoctrination." Being awake for 36 hours straight we were unaware we had paid $40 USD for a time share tour later in the week. A tour we did not attend and subsequently forfeited our $40. Also it cost my wife and I $75 USD from airport to resort only to find out the normal fee is $23 @ person plus tip. In addition there is nothing within walking distance from the resort no matter what they say. Every attraction and restaurant is only available by taxi but the rates are advertised at the front counter to give you an idea of what it should cost. The resort provides two excursions. One trip to the downtown shopping area was free and the second was a trip to a Redhook grocery mart for $9 USD a person. During our stay, we went to two restaurants outside of the resort, the Prime restaurant on the mountain top which cost us $100 plus tip in taxi fares and the Easterly restaurant in Redhood costing us $40 USD including tip. Both dinner meals were over $250 (not including taxi) and in our opinion were not worth the expense. A side note to travelers that are not young and nibble. The St Thomas airport does not have a skyway for entering or exiting airplanes. They use a stair pushed up against the door of the plane. If you have carry on luggage be prepared to manhandle it down and back up the stairs.
