The staff at the Crockett are always AMAZING. Don't change anything you're definitely doing it right.
Good value with great ambiance
I have usually stayed at the Menger Hotel as I like the old fashioned ambiance of vintage hotels. I also love drinking in the Menger Bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. The Crockett is right next door and has pretty much the same ambiance as the Menger but at almost half the price! I will be staying here from now on.
No mini bar or microwave. No room service. Pictures were deceiving. Not worth the money for one night. Also, charging your guests for parking is ridiculous since they already have to pay to park everywhere in San Antonio.
So comfortable
This is the second time I have chosen the Crockett hotel. It is a historic 7 story hotel. The hotel has been remodeled with fresh updated fixtures and appliances. These rooms are huge. You could do gymnastics in them. The staff is super friendly and actually happy to see you. Breakfast is typical eggs, waffels and such. The location is why you want stay here but the staff and hotel is why you will be back.
Old World Charm
Good location - good breakfast - next to the Alamo - Front desk staff was very friendly. fine for a long weekend for two adults but leave the children home
out dated - $24 daily parking fee - Postage size swimming pool with limited deck for sitting right by the main driveway.- non English speaking staff couldn't understand my question, so I needed to go to the front desk.
Content
Location was great. Staff was attentive. Spending time at the bar was a good day to end the day.
Breakfast was cold
The staff was very friendly
Nice rooms that appear to be recently remodeled. Great full breakfast every morning. Very centrally located close to The Alamo and Riverwalk. Staff are very kind and helpful too.
$25 parking charge per night
Second visit, looking forward to a third.
The hotel is a nice combination of modern and heritage. The location is perfect. Breakfast is far better than most.
The rooms are a little tight but due to the age of the hotel this is to be expected. I'd like to see some potatoes at the breakfast.
Worth a Stay
-Rich with history and dedication to preserving it -Location is great!!!!! Easy walk to the Riverwalk, Alamo Plaza and Bonham Exchange -Spacious room -Front desk staff was competent -Room was clean -Valet Car retrieval was quick, about 3 minutes each time -Free continental breakfast
-Front desk staff didn't seem welcoming -Price doesn't seem to comparable to room quality, but I think you pay for the location and history -Valet wasn't always readily available to take keys after already checking vehicle in -Parking around or near hotel is difficult and valet is $24/night -Sound traveled heavily from hallway into the room, not sure if it's because we were by the elevator Regardless of this, definitely worth a stay!!!!!
very nice clean comfortable hotel
Ernie's bar right in the hotel - great happy hour, very relaxed bar. good breakfast at the hotel every morning, staff very friendly, rooms nice and clean.
convenient as far as location and accessability to San Antonio "highlights". beautiful, historic. Great staff for the most part. because there was no gym/work out facilities on sight and the pool was out of commission during our stay, Crockett did direct and make it possible for us with a nearby facility/hotel.
we noticed when we were going to use a couple of glasses in our room for water/soda...that the "old" glasses were what we had to use and that the liquid from the previous night wasn't even emptied by the housekeeper that day...unfortunate...made us question whether the room was cleaned more than just make the bed...
San Antonio is a very historic area in the state of Texas. Travelers come from all over the world to see the sites of the Alamo and the San Antonio Missions. When tourists are here, they have many options for hotels. One of the finest is the Crockett Hotel. This hotel is known for serving guests for over 100 years. It has 138 rooms and is merely steps away from the Alamo.
Guests will be overwhelmed with the amenities of the hotel such as a complimentary hot breakfast, outdoor pool, spa, room service, laundry, non-smoking rooms, and pet-friendly rooms. They can enjoy WiFi, coffee maker, flat-screen television, work desk, iron, and hairdryer inside of their rooms.
With everything so close by, guests of the Crockett Hotel will not run out of things to do in the area. The Riverwalk, The Alamo, San Antonio Missions, San Antonio Museum of Art, The Witte Museum, South Texas Heritage Center, Sisters Grimm Ghost Tour, Alamo Trolley Tours, and South Broadway are all attractions that guests of the hotel will enjoy. Being so close to the Riverwalk, guests of the Crockett Hotel will find themselves where the action is. There are loads of restaurants and bars in this area as well.
Once guests check into the Crockett Hotel, they will see how friendly the staff is and just how comfortable a historic hotel can be. Booking a room is easy to do, but because of the popularity of this hotel, it is important to book it early.
