Tokyo hotels near Keio Gijuku Daigaku

Cons: Initial room was very small and they put us on the floor with the business and fitness area so people were in and out on that floor. Room was very very small where our 2 luggage would not fit. My GF kept on bumping her elbows into the shower door and the sink as there was no space in between for her to do her hair and make up. We had to upgrade to the JR. Suite at a very high price. The JR. Suite was an excellent room. We didn't need the living room area but it was a nice adder. What we were expecting was a bedroom similar to the JR suite bedroom but never got it on the regular booking. Concierge needs to look into what he's doing more. We asked about the Robot Restaurant and see about making reservations for that Saturday Night. He booked the reservations but didn't realize that payment up front is required. When we go to the place we were turned away as it was full and everyone had paid in full prior to arrival. When I tried to explain to him I don't think he spoke English well enough to understand. I was not mad at him as we understand we are in another country with a language barrier.

Cons: Breakfast was 25 dollars per person and did not include much. No good breakfast around. Very surprised that English proficiency of staff was not that good.

Cons: At check-in we were told we needed to pay for a separate room as my mother and my sister together with me are considered too old to fit in one room with two double beds. They said a larger room would be available that could accommodate the three of us together the next day but we would have to pay an additional 330 USD per night of stay! Our flight landed 11 pm at Haneda by the time we got to the hotel it was already almost 12:30 am, we were exhausted! Renting an additional room also costed the same amount $330. That's the option we went with for at least a day. We then booked a second room online for the subsequent 5 days for only half the price they asked us for upfront. It made little sense from a business perspective if they had let us upgrade to a one bedroom that would release them of two smaller rooms that they can charge more for. Internet is slow especially at night, can barely read the news. Air conditioning was weak in one of our rooms, I was sweating a lot.

Cons: More television options in English or that allowed for subtitles. Larger shower. Longer comforters because from my chest up was forced to be uncovered which was uncomfortable as I then had to raise the temperature and my lower body was uncomfortably hot. Better soundproofing for the rooms

Cons: There was not much to dislike here, however we did spend most of the time in the city rather than in the hotel. The only offputting experience was asking one of the front desk if the nearest conbini had luggage delivery services and she said no. We had a feeling her advice was incorrect because when we went to the conbini to check, they said they could transport our luggage for us.

Cons: Beds were hard

Cons: The pillows weren’t comfortable. They were hard. The rooms were very warm, despite decreasing aircon temperature.

Cons: Late at night the area is a little seedy with lots of people out drinking and partying. But if you’re smart you can ignore it.

Cons: I didn't stay longer.

Cons: Fancy expensive dinner downstairs ruined by extended cellphone conversations at the other tables. Who needs to facetime with Mom in the middle of dinner??

Cons: Location amongst love hotels, gentlemen's clubs and prostitutes lends a certain downmarket feel to the neighborhood, though it's not at all uncomfortable, let alone dangerous. Room was worn and gloomy, with dingy colors. We paid a higher price for a room on the 16th floor, which had a fantastic view, but cost nearly as much as the Intercontinental Strings in Shinagawa where we had stayed for business and which was truly excellent.

Cons: I've traveled to Tokyo for 3 straight years. This hotel is the worst by far. Even though it's advertised as a 4-star hotel, it is NOT a 4-star hotel. Here's what I think: Very small room, even for Tokyo standard. There were a few groups of rowdy tourists, and I can tell that the concierge was exhausted by them, and was not very friendly when she was helping me out. Even though it's in Shinjuku, location is not that good. It's right next to a bunch of love hotels and far from the main Shinjuku station. Overall, a big disappointment for me.

Cons: One of the female receptionist is unprofessional. After the room make up they forgot to put a teaspoon. When I informed her she told me that I should present to the front desk to ask for it! And she claims that they have rules (in disrespectful way). It is just a simple order (teaspoon)! I couldn’t understand what kind of rules that prevent them to bring a teaspoon! Totally unacceptable.

Cons: Room is tiny but not a complete surprise in Tokyo. However, there were several small things that could have been done to make the space more useful such as more clothes hangers, a shelf over clothing rod, and towel hooks in the bath to name a few.

Cons: I asked if they could help me make a reservation at a restaurant and was told that they couldn't help me once I had checked out. They said if I had asked seconds earlier, they would have helped me. Bad service.

Cons: A LOT of tour groups use this hotel, making it feel very crowded at time (though the rooms are quiet!)

Cons: the hotel is perfectly fine, but the location is rather close to the red light district. but they are very discreet. My husband and i feel very safe and comfortable to walk around.

Cons: More elevators. They took one of the elevators off line for PM during check-in/check-out. Not very smart.
