Pros: Such a gorgeous hotel. Everything was top notch, from the common areas to the rooms and it seems no expense was spared in creating this breathtaking hotel out of the main Detroit firehouse. The staff was welcoming, helpful and informative about the area. Detroit is a great city and the Foundation hotel is the place to stay.
Cons: The restaurant however was underwhelming. Again, the most amazing space, but our breakfast was just okay. And the coffee game needs to be stepped up.

Pros: The Aloft is a great hotel. Rooms are nice, although a bit dark and could use more lighting. Staff was extremely helpful and answered all questions. The bartenders at the WXYZ bar were great.
Cons: The hotel needs a restaurant or small place to eat. For being a wonderful downtown hotel, it is nice to get something to tag at the hotel.

Cons: The mini-bar in the refrigerator has sensors on the cans of pop/beer and if you literally move them (to put your left overs in the fridge, or for any other reason) then it is automatically billed to your room. I found a way to purchase $40 of Coke, diet Coke, Sprite, and Bud Light.

Cons: Insistence on using new technologies like texting to communicate with front desk instead of the usual in-house phone. The smart tv was also misleading. The app for premium channels like HBO are available, but the hotel does not have a subscription. I didn’t want to enter my own login information in case it was saved in the tv. It all felt like more work to be technologically forward.

The desk staff said they didn't know what to do and maybe it was some problem with my email. I pointed out it was only the one from Starwoods. The breakfast staff were very attentive, but the meal was overpriced for the quality.

Pros: When visiting any hotel, the staff make up 80% of the overall experience. The staff here at Greektown were my only friendly, but also incredibly accommodating and informative. If I had reasonable questions, they found me an answer as well as provided knowledge on getting around the city. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was a memorable and satisfying one. Will definitely be returning in the future.

The staff was quick to provide a new iron and send some one up for another cleaning.

Cons: Our view was overtaken by the top of the parking garage. The room was dirty. Everywhere we looked, there was dirt, smudges and grease marks on the walls, headboard, bathroom walls, mirrors, thermostat cover, you name it. There was even what looked like a bit of dried food on the bathroom wall. Everything was dusty as well. The decor throughout felt outdated. We were in one of the orange rooms and it did not feel very calming. Perhaps some of the other rooms have been updated? Room layout made it difficult to get comfortable--one big chair with no footstool, and only a small wall-mounted desk with one chair. How do two people eat a meal like that? Could not get the thermostat to adjust and the room was overly warm. Lobby staff was pleasant but not overly friendly. Room service was poorly executed--quality of food was sub-par, they messed up one of our orders and only brought one set of silverware.

We had to call down to get extra tea instead. The eggs, bacon, and the French Toast were cold in the buffet, many people complained. Response from the gentleman walking around in behind was "yep" They did bring out new trays of hot food, however the problem from what we could see, was that the water underneath was not hot and steaming when they lifted the other trays out. There was a full container of bacon which they just took out back. They were going to reheat and bring out later. Not a good thing to do.

Pros: Very very clean. I felt safe in the hotel, casino, restraunt, parking structure and nearby streets even at 2am. Great walking distance to Ford Field, a couple of nice restruants and clubs. Awesome mini bar, toiletries, water pressure in the shower, hotness of the water, coffee/tea bar, tv, soft linens, comfortable bed, security features. Overall a five star hotel. I did not use room service but I heard great things from other patrons. The staff at the hotel was amazing! Super friendly, fast and informative. I really have great time staying at the hotel.

Pros: -Loved the pool and spa facility. the room was fantastic, loved the bathroom. access to restaurants and the casino were great as we did not have to go far to get drinks or food. -Drinks were very inexpensive and of good quality. Our cocktail waitress, Autumn, who worked at the Axis lounge was very very kind and hard working. she checked on us many times so we could enjoy our time on the couches without having to get up to order drinks. -we are a gay couple, and felt safe staying at the hotel. Although when I made phone calls I was called "Mr.Johnson" a number of times.
Cons: -there really needs to be a mini fridge or cooler that we can put leftover food and items in. we were traveling by car so a lot of our items would go to waste. -security guards at living room entrance, there needs to be more consistency in them knowing what all of the guest room key cards look like. we were questioned about being guests because we had cards that said "TAP" on them, and the security guard had only seen ones that said "AXIS" on them. plus no other guard stopped us like that. -having bathrobes in our room would have been a plus because we went to the spa so often but had to walk down in just bathing suits and wet towels.

Cons: I would have given it 5 stars all around, however, the front desk check in staff did not inform us of the shuttle provided by the wedding until asked and they did not tell us the correct times so we missed the bride walking down the aisle.

Pros: The valet guys were super polite and awesome, asked me how my stay was and everything.
Cons: Never brought us toilet paper, towels, or pillows. Had to call them 3 times if I needed anything because they would just never show up. Front desk lady was so rude, didn't even take my complaints into consideration. I come to Detriot every weekend for work and last week I stayed at a $60 a night hotel that had WAY BETTER service than this $200 a night hotel! Don't waste your money! I wish I could get mine back after how these people treated us! OH I shouldn't forget that on our last day when we called the luggage cart up the lady made my 9 month pregnant friend roll it down and put the luggage in the car without helping her at all! I will NEVER come back here!

Pros: We were in town for a national conference just a few blocks away at the Cobo Center. Upon check-in the staff was super friendly and helpful. They even gave us a warm cookie. We were close to the stadiums, food places and downtown. The room was massive! The beds were in a seperate closed off area, so people could congregate in the sitting area if needed. Definitely worth the month compared to other hotels around the area.

Pros: The location of the Marriott in the Renaissance Center is great for seeing Downtown Detroit. It's near the river, which provides some awesome and beautiful views. I liked the tall ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows as well.
Cons: I came with friends for Movement and the hotel was packed to the gills. There was also a volleyball tournament going on the same week, so the hotel was out of extra beds. Our room didn't even have a fridge, which was absolutely ludicrous. We had to buy a temporary cooler for our food and drink. Other than that, it was a pretty nice stay despite the hotel being low on supplies. But they should be prepared for such rushes if they know ahead of time how busy it will be.

The recreational room is phenomenal with a full weight and cardio area, lots of rooftop balconies. Staff is very nice and attentive. I would come here again even though they nickel and dime you for everything. Being a hotel attached to the people mover is great for getting around downtown too. Saved a ton of money on cab fees!
Cons: Everything has an additional charge, no continental breakfast, which is fine but they also charge 14.95 for not a very great buffet. Hotel service is great They charge for valet and do not explain at check in they are putting a 100 dollar hold on your card, they say it falls off after making sure there are no incidentals or any additional charges. They failed to mention you're paying for valet which most hotels I have been to don't charge. I feel as if I could've stayed at greektown or antheum, as usual not have so many extras to pay for.

Then they forgot the permissible ranch lol. Such a joke. Thumbs down.
