Older building, some inconveniences
Location. 2 alcoves for a family of 4, a little tight but well- suited.
Non-potable water from the sink? At least they let us refill our drinking bottles in the kitchen. Very labile hot-cold settings on the ahower. Tired building- carpets etc a little shabby.
Good location, not a good deal
The bathtub was nice and the mattress put us to sleep. Decor was interesting and the tv was large. It is very close to the tube and attractions making it useful to walk to many attractions in South Kensington and Westminister.
The room was small (drawers could not be opened without adjusting other furniture). The ambiance was not pleasant, borderline spooky. The staff fumbled with almost everything and were unclear about important details.
Okay for a night or two
Friendly staff. Location.
Tiny old room. No heating in the bathroom.
I chose it because it was central and it was lovely to be able to get to shops and galleries/museums so quickly. Also wonderful decor in the public rooms.
The desk lamp was not working; it seemed that for the price we paid it would have been usual to expect all the facilities to be in working order. It was mentioned to the desk but as we were only there for one night it was not possible to fix it in time.
Nothing about the hotel apart from its location.
The hotel is shabby, run down and dirty. My room was totally inadequate and the smallest room I have ever stayed in. It was impossible to open the bathroom door and get in without clambering over the bed! The noise of the neighbouring rooms shower at 5am was like a jet plane coming through the room. I could go on but am trying to forget the Gainsborough experience. I will be consulting trip advisor.
