Cheap but you get what you pay for
Price and location, close to Earl's Court station.
Tiny room, hard to navigate hallway, smells musty, need some fixing.
Not for ideal for extended stays
Rooms too small to stay longer than a night or two. We thought they had parking and turns out they don't have any parking provided, whether paid or otherwise
Ibis hotel, Hogarth Road, London.
The best part was location: one block from Earl's Court station and lots of restaurants nearby. The staff were very helpful and gave me a very slightly larger room as the other was so small and hospital-like that I didn't think I could sleep in it. Breakfast was good, a large spread in a large room.
The room, a single, was a veritable cubicle. Just enough room to pull the small suitcase past the bed. For my ipad, wifi seemed to be intermittent. That may not have been true of other people's devices.
Closest Sized Rooms
Clean rooms, breakfast was good, able to check in early.
Rooms were very very small (think closest sized) with hard mattress and very soft pillows
Room 23 beware
The air conditioner kept us up all night, tried turning it off and it didn't make a difference. Staff couldn't fix it, we luckily had ear plugs! If you get room 23 ask for a new room immediately.
Good value for the money
Minimalist rooms and decorations, nothing unnecessary. Clean, well laid out, excellent location.
Very little to dislike. The included breakfast was less than adequate.
No frills good and bad
location convenient for walking and underground; staff friendly, helpful, very hard-working in breakfast area; breakfast was great; rooms clean, functional but tight - OK for adults, wouldn't work for children. Price and style are typical of IBIS and we like the simplicity, no-frills style.
Very narrow upstairs hallways; particle-board side of bathtub was water-damaged; carpeting in hallways didn't fit, frayed on edges; TV remote didn't work, needed new battery; first room we were given had bad sewage smell from bathroom and we were given new room. We wondered how well the place is maintained - cleaning staff keep sheets & bathroom clean, but the infra-structure is not so good.
Location was good - very close to train stop (Piccadily and District lines).
Internet did not work at all. Supposedly this was not fixable. I was traveling for work and needed internet to get it done. So I had to go to a coffee shop to work. The gym was not usable since it was supposedly under construction. My bed and towels had hairs on them from the previous occupant. 2nd day towels were ok.
It was clean. Good price for central London. Very close to Earls court Tube made travelling very convenient. Nice hotel. Staff nice. Nice area. Good size room and and best size bathroom for the price, especially in London. It was not cramped.
The only thing would be how one lady staff member who was always on the phone and would make you wait to give or pickup your key it was annoying and you could tell it was a peronal phone call.
To be honest I could not think of one thing that I could proclaim to be nice or good on this hotel besides quite nice reception which is not important at all...
I think that this hotel is the worst one among tens of hotels I already stayed in. Very unfriendly and unprofessional manager (forget any favors or help). I was suppose to stay for 10 days (over the weekend) but then I had to leave home for the weekend so knowing that I bought non-refundable rate I only asked if I could use those days in future as they could easily sell the room (or at least try). NOT a option. NOT possible. Room for £90 was 3x3m (2x1,6m was bed), excluding breakfast (for additional £12), internet £2 for hour. Room was very closed to barracks, but clean. Do not go there if you are used to receive what you pay for. They simply do not care about their customers at all.
The location right by Earl's court tube station as well as walking distance from the museums was very convenient
The quality of the room certainly did not live up to the images in photos that were shown on the hotel web site. In addition, this was the first hotel where I have been asked to pay for my whole stay upon booking in and also where breakfasts were paid immediately after each meal at the table. Then again, maybe this is normal for hotels in this part of London....?
The best was leaving the hotel, it was expensive, the bed was uncomfortable, the room small, the bathroom almost impossible to get in, the hotel looks like an ant hill, except the reception which looks great in order to cheat you. Avoid this hotel
The Bed was used by Henry V probably hard and noisy, the rooms are really small I cant open may luggage, the corridors are like an ant hill, the personal is unfriendly and they speak some understandable English. I don't know how this ant hill could have 3 stars. And it's absolutely expensive. The hotel is a bed and breakfast (and an ugly one) with out breakfast, with a fancy reception, and expensive. Avoid it !!!!
good staff, great hotel restraunt and great location.
shower was quite bad
Facilities - Water pressure in the shower was extremely poor - taking bath was a real challenge - worst experience in my last 10 years of business travel
Convenience to tube station and London shopping. Security on main door who helped with luggage. Use of a lift and welcoming appearance of the foyer on arrival.
The lounging area at reception is very nice, large range of breakfast including room service.
The standard rooms are very small and so we upgraded to a deluxe room which was much bigger and didn't feel as cramped.
shower was not working corectly, the room size was too small
