Cons: Noisiest hotel in Monterey

Cons: I didn't need a mini bar in he room. But would of liked a microwave and mini fridge.

Cons: It was no better than a holiday express, but much more expensive. Beds were miserably uncomfortable.

Cons: The rooms have a joint door and you can clearly hear the noise from the next room. In our case there was a baby crying the whole night and we couldn't sleep. On calling the helpdesk, the Manager offered us free breakfast. It was a good gesture to offer b/fast but the hotel should seriously think on the noise issue due to joining room doors. That design doesn't work. Also the swimming pool is very small and just for namesake.

Cons: The pool was small.

Cons: Jacuzzi closes at 10:30 even on weekend :(

Cons: A bit pricey

Cons: I thought booking a hotel right next to the water that I could be hearing waves in the tranquility of the evening. Instead I hear cars and foot traffic because our room is all the way back and faces the garage. This hotel was almost three times the cost of any equivalent hotel if it wasn't next to the waves I didn't get to hear.

Cons: The bathtub was too small even I am 5foot 115lb woman. The pillow top was too thick and it was too hot for me.

Cons: The restaurant was not pricey and not very good. This is a small complaint, as the view was outstanding and there are plenty of better places to eat within easy walking distance. Would have been nice if wifi was included with room.

Cons: Room is too crowded with stuff. Lack of space for luggage and yourself. We were on first floor where they recommend locking windows plus people could see in. Two small windows on the parking/alley side did not provide enough air considering there was no A/C. Also very noisy in the morning on that side. Add to that was the fact the screens were ripped. TV had a cheap, crappy remote. The location is only okay. Price too high for the product.

Cons: A bigger pool and hot tub would be nice.

Cons: The front parking lot was very tight and very full. The back lot was not accessible due to construction but I assume that would free help once construction ceased. They no longer accept dogs. I would go back again if they allowed dogs still. In fact, it would be the only place I would go while staying there. The fridge is a little small but many food options were nearby so storing food is not really highly necessary.

Cons: Small room size. No air conditioning which I realize they don't need very often, but it was quite warm when we were there.

Cons: I paid $200 for basically a motel with a cuter looking front. The place seems like it needs a fix up and not just cosmetic. I've NEVER stayed in a hotel with no a/c..you should at least advertise that there's no a/c. We heard every footstep of the guests above us. I'd never stay again

Cons: My room was upgraded to a fireplace room but there was not a way to turn on the gas to light the fireplace. I am sure I could have called down and they would have sent a key for the gas. It seemed to be too much trouble at the time.

Cons: Hot tub was closed for social distancing but easily could have been open by appt or limited to one household at a time. Pool was “heated” but kids still got too cold to swim after about 10 minutes in it. Outside temp was 70 degrees so it wasn’t freezing outside.

Cons: The amenities are small -- workout room, pool, etc... but when in Monterey there isn't a reason to stay at the hotel anyway. During peak season, the rooms are a little pricey here

Cons: Every time we entered underground parking the bottom of our car scraped the rise. This should be fixed. It was our only issue with the location, but serious enough to impact overall reading.

Cons: Rooms facing the street are a bit noisy. No minibar, so we pucked up a few waters, snacks and sodas to put in room fridge.

Cons: - stuffy room (smell) - housekeeping left dirty towels in the room (on the floor) - bed is SUPER soft (not comfortable for me)

Cons: I do not know how it is that this place is getting such a high rating... They obviously pay people (or give rooms away) in exchange for a positive review. The stay here was equivalent to Motel 6 experience at best. I won't ever stay here again

Cons: turn out i was issue a room which smell dog, clerk seeing that I didn't have a pet or even ask if i had one issue me one, When we checked in we where surprised with a 15.00 a day parking charge. When checking out I had told the same receptionist about dog smell and noisy traffic side of the room, he apologized and remove one of the 15.00 parking fee. Did question him if he new I didn't have a pet why did he issue me a room for who have pets

Cons: There was no clearly marked parking. The room was super noisy, especially as they entertained guests at the rooftop bar, and as they cleaned up the bar after the end of the night. And as they started to serve breakfast. The room was old and rather amateurish, with mismatched paint, dented walls, a partially-functioning TV, and a jacked-up door handle. Also, the bed was super uncomfortable. It was like sleeping in a bounce house. For the price, I expected a much nicer facility.

Cons: The room felt a bit cramped. Limited parking and dangerous access to the main road.

Cons: The room was a little small but we didn't mind. The bed was too soft for my boyfriend and we will make adjustments for that next time. The only parking is on the street but we always found something close and we were able to leave our car their and walk most places so it wasn't that big of an issue.

Cons: Parking is limited. We stayed for 4 days and our sheets never got changed so they got pretty sandy. The hotel is located on a major road and so the traffic made things pretty noisy, especially since there is no air conditioning unit and we had the windows open.

Cons: The only thing that was less than ideal was the on-street parking, but that worked out fine for us.

Cons: The heater and the TV didn't seem to want to work together. It shorted the main room twice so I had to notify the front desk. The bed had a hair in it that wasn't mine. The location is right on the main road, but the noise didn't bother me too much.

Cons: The only problem with the room was no window. There was a door to the outside but didn't feel good about leaving the door open all night. Got a little stuffy during the night. No AC. Very limited parking.

Cons: Though I loved how close we were to Cannery Row and how easily accessible it was to everything, the cars driving by in the morning was a little loud. Also, the rooftop restaurant was a little loud at times when we were in our room because we were right underneath but not enough to make me not want to stay there again.

Cons: 1. Your ad said I had two options for this type of room: City view or Ocean view. I clicked on city view. In reality, I got a room on the second floor and a view of the building next door and the Subway down the street. VERY misleading ad and application form for your room. 2. I was given the option of a King or Double. The room was for my partner and I so I was hoping for a King. I've never received a double booking as a couple but this time I did. I called front desk to change my room when I got upstairs and they said I never specified King. Your website doesn't give a very obvious space for me to specify King though. 3. The room I was placed in was next to the weight room. It was loud because when people work out, they lick to drop weights which makes a lot of noise. This did not making sleeping very easy. 4. I tried paying for the internet but kept getting error messages. I'm good with computers and I'm certain this was a network issue and not a user error on my part. In short, I didn't get the room I expected, it was difficult sleeping at night bc we were so close to the weight room, there was no internet, and I don't understand how the front desk said I should have specified King bed when your online app form doesn't give me a space for that. I won't be staying at the Marriot any more in the future.

Cons: As we were checking in, we were told that we had signed up for two queen beds. As this was the one night in over 4 years that we got to spend together without her kids, I had made sure when I reserved the room it was for a king bed. After 10 minutes of negotiating, the lady at the front desk assigned is to a wheelchair accessible room with the king bed. Paying $400+ for the night, we were not very happy with the type of room we were assigned to. The bed itself was very uncomfortable. The mattress was very cheap and sagging on each side. The pillows were made of practically nothing but air. To add to the lovely stay, at 1:00 am we were awoken to the the fire alarm going off and loud flashing blinking lights in our room. The entire hotel had to evacuate and after the fireman came to turn the alarm off, we went back to our room. It was safe to say at this point we wouldn't get much sleep. As we complained to the front desk about our stay, they apologized and offered nothing to us. I will NEVER stay at this Marriott again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Cons: We only had a single night stay and arrived earlier than the checking time. We were told to hang around for a bit for our room to be ready which just so happened to be 6 hours later. Then we walk into our room to sheets that had stains on them. And let’s not forget parking 3 blocks away and constantly having to walk back and forth to the car and back to avoid paying the $25 valet. Overall the hotel was not worth the amount we paid for it.

Cons: Room needs to be renovated. Carpet and furniture are tired and don’t feel clean. Bathroom is old and mediocre. Ventilation is poor. Disappointed overall in quality of room.

Cons: Hotel is very dated, smells heavily of artificial air freshener, way overpriced (I used 50,000 Marriott points - same as the Ritz on the beach in Santa Barbara?!) - unfortunately the entire area is this way - high demand / low supply of rooms so lots of lousy accommodations for high prices. Expect to pay $500+ for a decent room (not here).

Cons: Was downgraded rooms after using an upgrade. Poor greeting on arrival. Attempts at upsell on arrival.
