Fridge kept making noise. Nobody would clean your room if u stay more than one night. No free parking.

Cheap but dirty.
The price was great, the location was good for me, and the staff was pretty good about blocking me a room in advance. The rooms were decent and had sinks, nice TVs, dressers, and lots of closet space. The beds were ok but not great.
The restrooms were disgusting. The kitchen needs cleaning and refurbishing. Some jackass was talking loudly on his cell phone and playing music at 1:30 a.m. I couldn't close my window to tune him out. It was really annoying.

Great friendly staff
The building is historic. The historic El Capitan Inn over the former grand El Capitan Hote from 1960s, but now a parking lot however the historic hotel portion remains. It is a great deal for the price. Great friendly employees. Friendly housekeeping. Safe area with vibrant hispanic culture. You feel like youre in Mexico, Central, and South America. Very fascinating.
