Pros: Staff was friendly but could not help me overcome the wensite issueCons: FOIX COULD CONSIDER ENGAGING IN FAIR TRADE PRACTICES. THAT COULD HELP. I reserved a car on line for 10 days. Price: $250. Got to SF 10 hours late. Because of the delay I asked to change my reservation from 10 days to nine days. Agent made the change and the new price was $400!! Said there was nothing he could do. It was the computer's fault!! During our stay COVID restrictions were imposed on LA so we shortened our trip by 2 days. When I turned in the car there was no reduction in price. I was charged a flat $66 per day!! The agent told me this could not be changed. It was according to FOX pricing policy. He would not even give me the weekly rental price, which was lower. As far as I am concerned, a friendly agent and a clean car do not cancel out grand larceny. NOT GOIMNG TO USE FOX AGAIN NO MATTER HOW LOW THE ADVERTISED PRICES MAY BE. IT IS A CLASSIC BAIT & SWITCH SCAM.

Cons: I had reserved a full size hybrid (Ford Fusion or similar). When I arrived to pick it up I was told not only was there no full size hybrids but they did not have any full size cars at all. My options were a midsize Hyundai Elantra or a 2018 Jeep Renegade. This was during the second week in Dec when San Francisco was sheltering in place and rental traffic was low. Felt like I was lured in with a bait and switch. When you get a cheap rate just know that you may not get what you asked for at Fox Car Rental.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pickup line moved pretty quickly and the value was great in comparison to the big name rental agencies. The car was nice and was comfortable and easy for my family of 4 to navigate.Cons: The off airport lot does require a few extra minutes to get shuttled back and they're only allowing 4 people per van so you may have to wait a time or 2.

My pickup wait time was about an hour. The tire pressure light was in the whole drive to LA. Then on the drive down a notice for an oil Change came up. There also wasn’t any wiper fluid.

There was a key drop where I left it, noted date/time/mileage, but beyond that it wasn't clear if it was OK to leave it.

Pros: The car was nice and very clean, and I appreciated being able to get a car easily during the pandemic.Cons: I booked a drop-off location that was closed at the time that I had selected when I started the rental, and was told that extending the rental until the next day would cost me $150, which is about 8x what I had paid for the first day. I was told I would also have to pay $150 if I was late dropping the car off at an alternate location, which was much further away. I ended up making the drop-off time and avoided the charges, but was frustrated by being threatened with penalties for a situation that wasn’t my fault and I should have been alerted of when I booked the car, or when I picked it up.

Pros: I WOULD HAVE liked to actually get the van I booked and the price I booked it.Cons: That I could actually get the van I booked. I was on a cruise ship that was delayed because a passenger was critically ill. We had to return to Honolulu so the Patient could get the care needed. This along with a storm at sea made as a few hours late. I called on Tuesday morning to confirm our van would still be waiting and was told that the reservation had been canceled. It took an exorbitant amount of time to find out why and then to find that there were no more vans available, at all. This was even true of Budget’s sister agency, Avis. I ended up having to book a larger van through Enterprise for 7.5 times the amount of your quote for the minivan. Needless to say I am not happy with the outcome. I will think twice before using your service again.

You could not use CarPlay or connect to Bluetooth so I couldn’t use my phone for direction. I spent more than an hour trying to get a car that worked out of San Francisco. It was a bit annoying having to go back and forth between the rental office and the location of the cars. Did not enjoy my experience.

Cons: I feel like the Kayak enticed me by having a nice car, specifically the BMW X3, for a good deal even though it was still a bit more than the lowest-priced SUVs that were available, but when I went to pick it up at Dollar, they said Kayak had messed up and gave me a Nissan Rough instead. I said I had chosen the BMW X3 but the guy from Dollar told me what I paid for wasn't in the BMW price range even though my confirmation email said intermediate SUV.

Would have been perfect if not for the child seatsPros: Everything but the child seatsCons: Car seats were really bad value for $13/day per piece (we needed 2). They were the cheapest possible seats, it would have been cheaper to just buy them. There was no good solution for a 42lb kid - too young for a booster seat, too big for the car seat. We had to shoehorn her into the available seat. Pickup of the car was good, but the person in charge of car seats was rude and seemed annoyed by my request to see available seats.

Watch your locationCons: It's my own fault for not investigating closer, but I was under the impression that my San Francisco rental would be picked up at the airport. When I arrived at said airport with my husband, two kids, 4 suitcases, 4 backpacks, and 2 car seats, I was informed by a rude National employee that my rental was to be picked up at the train station, which was at least 30 minutes away, and she could do nothing to help me. I ended up renting a car from Alamo by calling and reserving a car on the spot. I am unlikely to use Kayak again.

Cons: I got a call 2 days before the rental to remind me. The reservationist said I was to pick the car up on Mission St in SF and I was sure it was at SFO. She said the Mission shop would be closed before I got there. I asked how much to switch to SFO and she gave me a rate of $2800, triple the original quote. Told her to cancel and ended up making other arrangements. After cancelling I looked at my reservation and it WAS a SFO pick up. Had I not gotten that call I would have completed my original reservation. Somebody at Sixt screwed up and cost me a lot of grief and money.

Pros: Based on the entire experience both during and after rental, nothing at all to like.Cons: DO NOT TRUST THEIR STAFF OR VEHICLES OR CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTERWARDS!!!!! Upon check-in, I was advised the SUV I booked was not suitable for Tahoe winter (shouldn't all SUVs be winter-ready?!) so forced to pay double original booked total for a different SUV. That vehicle was NOT equipped for Tahoe winter - faulty frozen wiper fluid, bad windshield wipers, engine light on, brake noise on day 1,2! Wasted Hours on multiple days on addressing vehicle faults, and yet was not given even 1 hour extra to return the car on final day. I have spent 8 MONTHS trying to get reimbursed for the upsell charges I paid despite being given a vehicle that could not perform any better than original SUV booked at significantly lower rate. DO NOT RENT HERE because if there are issues you will not find ANY way to contact SIXT to get issues addressed. Every option by phone or website leads to literally no person or error messages on their website. Only when I finally gave them bad review on Yelp, months later, did someone reach out to me and tell me to email them and even then I had to follow up 2 times to get a response. STILL NO RESOLUTION after 8 months. I think they want you to eventually give up so they can keep your $. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Worst experience of my life whereas I am renting cars very often (over the last 2 months I rented 10 different cars with multiple companies). I will never go to Sixt and I will spread the word and advise that everyone do the same.
