The hotel smelled bad, maybe we had a room that allows smoking. It seemed as though new furniture had been put into an old hotel without doing any deeper upgrades. We reserved online through hotels.com and staff couldn't find our reservation, then said that we had already been checked in and had to go an make sure there wasn't anyone already in the room.

it was quiet and simple
a little too simple, almost like "budget". for example, only 24 hours of free wi-fi during my three night stay. Only store bought muffins for breakfast. Only basic tv channels, there was HBO but i didn't see most of the regular line up. Only one chair in the room even though it was booked for two adults and had two beds.

The room was awesome. Full kitchen, plenty of space! And the view was spectacular
They charge you 30 dollar a night for parking. I really disliked this and probably wouldn't stay with them again only for this reason.

parking fee is way too expensive, even though staff was instructed to say, "it's still cheaper than anything else in the neighborhood." this could be a reason for me to book somewhere else in the future.

“I was a patient at UCSF and the Laurel Inn gave my family member a 3pm checkout with no issue so they had a COVID-safe place to wait while I was in surgery for 6 hours. Furthermore the hotel was very quiet, with open stairwells for safer travel around the hotel, which wasn't a super big high rise. Rooms were clean, modern, with comfortable beds, and super spacious for SF. Easy travel to UCSF and Lower Pacific Heights.”
