Waking distance to a decent coffee shop and a bar
Smelled like cigarettes in the lobby and chemicals in the room. Run down rooms. Didn't look clean.
Unfriendly and not helpful, not a good part of tow
No bed bugs at least
The staff at the Monarch were not helpful in the least. They watched as I struggled to load the luggage cart, watched as I struggled to get it into the elevator, failed to tell us where parking or the valet were, almost got my car towed, the valet damaged my car, the room was laid out so that I had to walk across one bed to get into the room, the toilet gurgled all night, and to top it off: the hotel is in a bad part of town across from the community center.
Rooms very small, expensive parking. Being pregnant it freaked me out seeing their big sign as you check in about their building having some prop and may cause birth defects, has an odd smell to it. Maybe old. But I would prefer my super 8 that I stayed I night before
Very friendly staff, everything was clean and smelled nice. The room was not too small, and the bed was perfectly comfortable.
Our bathroom sink did not have hot water.
Enjoyable and quaint.
Cute and comfortable! Loved the decor, thw rooms were cute, the bathtub was wonderful (i took a long bath) and the bed was clean and comfy. Easy walking distance to some yummy restaurants.
My only complaint would be that when i went to check in, the staff at the front desk didn't show up for a good ten minutes. when they finally did show up they were rude- wouldn't make eye contact, didn't say hello...I'm not sure what his deal was but it was a weird interaction. but other than that one issue the hotel was a lovely stay.
