Reservation was cancelled by the booking agent after charging my CC in full. The cancellation notice was sent to the hotel WITHOUT notifying me. As such, I had no idea it was canceled until I arrived. No room availability led to a frustrating effort of finding a hotel room while standing in the city during one of the busiest weeks of the year. These agents are crooks. American Express has already initiated a fraud investigation.
Bed super comfortable. Concierge staff very welcoming and helpful. Great coffee spot up the block.
Sometimes the wifi was a little spotty. If you looking to travel in the next few months know that there is construction
Good for 1 night
Yhe location was great. Walking distance to many restaurants. 7 minute drive to pier 39.
The sink was clogged. The advertisement for continental breakfast was not true. All we got was a "sorry, not anymore."
Room was dirty and dilapidated
There were a few things that made our stay with you hotel less than enjoyable last week. Below are some examples of what made us surprised, especially considering how much we paid for the room: -there were dirty socks on the floor of the room upon arrival -the closet floor was filthy -the bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the walls -the bathroom floor had not been cleaned from the previous residents -there were still plastic bags on the box springs that were peeking out from the bed -the carpet was filthy, full of stains and ripped -the bathroom fan made horribly loud noises -the walls were full of bad patch jobs and mis-matched paint -we were surprised at the overall condition of the room for how much we paid Another note on the valet service: - when we got our car back, there were weird marks allover all of the windows. we picked valet service hoping that the car would be kept in a secure, clean location. the wipe marks all over the windows made us suspicious that the car was not kept in such a location.
Cute but aging. Staff could be much friendlier!
Location great and a nice happy hour in the afternoon. Interesting guests.
Room was small. Bathroom had no storage at sink. Needs a good renovation!
Do not take room 300
Staff was friendly
Very dated Super small room. Was not what was advertised.
Great Value and Helpful Staff
Unique rooms. Flexible and helpful staff. Outstanding value. Good location.
Enjoyed my experience
Staff were nice, Italian restaurant is tasty, free wine and cheese after 5 I believe. Parking is minimal so expect $40 for valet and I had a small car per night. Overall enjoyed my stay.
Small and old
Decent location and clean
Not for the business traveler. The room barely fit the double bed and the bathroom was so small the sink didn't fit. The walls are thin and it's very loud through the night.
super cute boutique hotel
I loved how it was a boutique hotel and honestly what I was looking for in SF. Only stayed 2 nights but would have stayed longer. Would definitely look into staying in the hotel again if we needed to. We had an end unit so we had windows on both sides of the room. Our comforter and sheets were white and bed frame a cute black vintage one. I feel this made the whole room open up with nice vintage touches with the desk and extra chair in the room. We had a little closet which held my mini suitcase and a built in bookshelf. I can't speak for the rest of the rooms but I do feel like we lucked out in ours. Great water pressure which I appreciated!! Weird thing to remember but it was awesome!
I woke up abruptly in the morning because someone was standing outside the door talking. I couldn't hear through the walls but the next morning was a jolt I wasn't ready for. Could have just been a loud talker that no matter what door was there he could have been heard. One of our face towels had a stain, but didn't bother me much, I just put it aside not to use. Other than that, no problems.
Great Value Considering Area
I loved my room and the cleanliness. When I checked in a nice clean room with two beds that I booked were ready for me. The hotel's location was good for me for all of the things I wanted to see from Lombard Street, to Lands end, Pier 39, and other places I wanted to see were within a 5-15 minute drive from the hotel. There was a decent, filling breakfast that I had before I left in the morning. I did not pay for that as part of my stay abut it was nice that I was able to enjoy it. The check in and check out process was quick and easy. A little tip is that there is a parking garage at the intersection of bush and polk (only one block down) that offers cheaper parking than this hotel's valet. If you get your car parked in there a little past 9pm then get your car out before 8am so that your bill is only $6. Overall it was a great stay but If I ever go to SF again with my car I will definitely try to make sure the hotel has its only parking b/c it can be expensive to pay to park near your hotel on top of parking to see sights around the city.
The biggest complaint I have is that the hotel claims to have parking but its actually valet parking that is anywhere from $26-$40 a night depending on the size of your car. I stayed there from Dec 30-31 and the room was freezing. I had a thin blanket which was not really sufficient. There wasn't much a view but it was not that big of a deal to me as I was there to see sights not sit and look out of my window. The staff was so so. I went to the front desk to ask about parking and that is when I was told that they had valet and no actual parking lot for guests to come and go as they please. Then I asked them about other parking garages around and they were not too helpful. In helping me finding alternatives.
Charming, affordable hotel
lovely hotel, beautifully decorated: restored Victorian decorations, private bathroom, breakfast and wifi included, convenient location. We easily walked home after seeing the fireworks at Embarcadero.
right after checking in, we walked to tourist info and unwittingly walked right through Tenderloin, which is only one block south. Luckily it was during the day, so it was ok, but we passed at least 5 people who looked strung out. The other times we walked to the hotel, we avoided Tenderloin and it was fine.
authenticity of the building, free wine and cheese sampling every afternoon to meet other guests, reasonably central location (public transport), complimentary breakfast (basic)
expect small (but cosy) rooms, complementary breakfast only untill 9.30
the staff was extremely friendly. the hotel offered free wine tasting and breakfast while we stayed there at the designated times.
when we arrived there was a problem with the availability of our room. they quickly solved the problem and gave us the suite for the weekend. that was the only problem we experienced, but the hotel was very accommodating.
Friendly helpful staff. Location was pretty good and free breakfast.
Rooms very small and quite noisy too.
the hotel was very well located for seeing the whole of the city.
the room was most definitely not deluxe!!!!! The hotel front desk people (there was many) didn't seem to communicate very well with one another. The room was basic but not totally clean (dust on light fittings, lamps that didn't work. Door key system to get in to the room (we had to change our keys about 6 times in the 10 days we stayed.
Location was fairly good, the value for money and complimentary internet, wine and cheese.
Front desk person was rude and cold, tried to charge us more for extra person even it was my son of 11 year old, room was very small, not the one we booked on internet, toilet smelled, there was a charge for misselineous unexplained what it is for. Internet connection was very slow , almost impossible, I had to give up eventually and end up charged from my cr. Card anyway. Stuff is so unfriendly and gloomy. Parking is very limited and cost 32.00 per night. There is 20.00 rhight around the corner, but nobody bothered to tell us.
beautifully decorated, good location, convenient parking(but you pay 20.00 per day)and wine tasting in the evening adds a social and relaxed atmosphere to the lovely lobby
Breakfast was poor
The internet access was non existent. I could not get on the wireless network to work. :-(
charming, quiet, centrally located. great staff -- desk, housekeeping and parking attendants all professional and very pleasant. room decor - intimate and welcoming.
