Banff hotels near Banff Park Museum

Cons: Coffee needs to be improved. We did ask for a coffee pot and was immediately supplied.

Cons: For as much as it cost, the rooms were quite small and the walls were very thin - lots of outside noise. No alcohol allowed by the fireplace in the lobby was inconvenient. No full-length mirror in rooms. Shower head awkwardly close to the shower wall so you had so stand uncomfortably close to the wall while showering.

Cons: Better breakfast options are available in town.

Cons: For $312 CAD you get the equivalent of a Marriott Courtyard...except smaller. No view! It's misleading to list a bunch of amenities that aren't open yet. I was told I could walk to the hotel next door and use their gym. Huge disappointment!

Cons: Leaving....and not having time to visit the Waldhouse Restaurant on site. I was looking forward to their schnitzel, but misread their schedule.

Cons: We had opted out of bringing our stroller this trip and that was the only thing I wish we had at the hotel as it's so big and we were in a wing far from the main building. Wish they had a stroller rental kinda thing

Cons: Bed and small size room

Cons: Room wasn't ready to check on until 7:30pm! When got there, room was very dusty! Staff did provide complimentary breakfast as a sorry and were helpful, but a lot of money for a pretty standard hotel room!

Cons: Our room had no AC and the unit they brought in worked poorly. Management gave us 2 breakfast free fro our inconvenience, but hat was a poor response . Our room was very loud due to the portable AC and was warm all night because it didn't work well. I think Management did the very minimal to appease our situation. disappointing.

Cons: They had a lot of restaurants but they open for dinner they said they closed at sunset which is 9:30 and they were closed by 8 one night at least 3 rest closed by8

Cons: In a luxury hotel such as this you should't be charged per-day for wireless internet access. This is really my only complaint, the rest of the stay was flawless.

Cons: Location is great but not as exceptional given the price of the hotel. Too far from town to really walk ... not close to anything really interesting like other hotels ... no skiing nearby in winter to justify spending the money we did. If money is no object this is the place to go.... but it matters to me. Otherwise a fantastic place.

Cons: The TV

Cons: the breakfast was adequate but modest

Cons: Toilets were never cleaned, bath tub remained clogged the whole stay, the heating in the room was poor, the bed was very hard, sheets were very thin. Breakfast was not bad but some mornings were worse than others

Cons: INTERNET WAS VERY POOR STRENGTH . COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST WAS NOT GOOD . Some time they do not attend call at reception desk nor they call back to room

Cons: The breakfast was chaotic and not very well organized. I had to ask for glasses for juice, mugs for hot drinks, cutlery and bowls for cereal. There was some cutlery behind all the food on the window shelf, but this wasn't really visible when people were serving themselves food. When I did notice the cutlery tray, there were only spoons left. The hot water for the tea was lukewarm. My daughter and I were sat right next to where the food was served and the line was being constantly held up by guests waiting for more coffee, juice, milk for cereal, etc. I did not know there was any bacon, until about 15 minutes after I had sat down as there was none when we first got there. I only realized when someone walked past me with the bacon. Whoever was in charge of making sure all the hot foods and other foods were in constant supply were not monitoring this properly. The only time all foods were well stocked was after 10:00am, when the bacon, sausage and egg were piled high, but as it was after 10:00am, no-one else was coming in to eat it. My daughter and I left around 10:40am and there was hardly anyone left so a lot of food would have gone to waste, when this should have been in abundance earlier on. Though it was chaotic, the workers who were replacing finished food items and tidying up, were pleasant and friendly throughout. I would have preferred an earlier check in time. Checking at 4pm and having to be out of the room the next morning at 11am, does not leave a lot of time to enjoy the amenities, (pool & hot tub) in the hotel or in the area. I felt short-changed. I would be reluctant to book again because of the not very pleasant breakfast experience.

Cons: There is no pool even though they say there is. You have to go next door to the neighbor hotel and it is dingy and very sketchy hot tub area. Pool is in completely different area. Breakfast was supposed to be until 11:00 am and was cleaned up and put away by 10:30 am. A decent walk from most shopping areas and restaurants. Not worth $400 + for a night. One of the only rooms without a balcony.

Cons: The only negative about our stay was the "continental breakfast" that was included. Only the pastries and cereal were included, the hot foods were $10 more so we opted to eat outside of the hotel. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

Cons: The hallways were covered in drywall mud patches so must have been prepping for some repainting or something. Temporary inconvenience but not a sightly interior.

Cons: We had sewer water coming up our bathroom sink at 7:30 am and the night before I noticed some black soot in the sink but did not know why. We left our room as soon as possible reported this to the front desk. The manager only offered a 50% return for the room rate when I thought it would only be right to fully compensate us for such an extreme inconvenience. Disgusting!

Cons: The rooms had no a/c and the temperature was set pretty high when I arrived. I opened the windows and left them open till about 1am but the alley outside the window was very noisy with people drinking and smoking drugs so I had to close the window, then I woke up feeling horrible as the room was so hot you could barely breath. The next night was cooler outside so the temperature was much more comfortable, but a guy on a motorcycle showed up in the alley at midnight and started revving the engine, and talking with all the people in the alley. It's probably a much better place to stay when it's winter time.

Cons: No air conditioning and noisy outside with window open.

Cons: Although likely not their fault we were awoken at 6:45 am by a garbage truck in the alley. Normal in NYC but not Banff!

Cons: A few more pillows.

Cons: Having to leave the friendly staff and beautiful room we had!!

Cons: I expected that there is basic amenities like refrigerator, air-conditioning, microwave considering cost and 3-star rating of facility. But nothing was there. They just put a table fan which was not very comfortable after full day's activities for a good night sleep for hot summer days. Floors were squeaky and making noise while walking. Parking was horrible, very narrow and it took lots of time and adjustments to safely park. Breakfast was okay. Nothing special.

Cons: -Our room smelled a bit of sweaty socks

Cons: The room we had was facing the back alley and every morning at 7am a delivery truck beeped and banged it's way around for 30 minutes making sure you couldn't go back to sleep.

Cons: Parking is horrendous. Had a Nissan Pathfinder which took 10 minutes to park in a little wee spot with many support columns surrounding the parkade. Would be easy to park a Ford Fiesta in. Also there is NO AIRCONDITIONING, only a fan provided by Brewsters. It was 27 in Banff on one day of our stay there and the room was overly hot and uncomfortable. No mini fridge to keep cold drinks in.

Cons: Artificial flowers in pool area where real plants would probably thrive. Needs to keep on updating to appeal to current standards, including carpet and paint finishes.

Cons: Walk to town was a little longer than most hotels, but still a great location.

Cons: Hot tub was too cool.

Cons: It seems the drains in the bathroom were clogged up a little.

Cons: Underground parking was terrifying in my large SUV! Found street parking no problem however.

Cons: Room was way to hot and was not able to cool it down, Went to have a dip in the hot tub.. and really it should be called a cold tub i have been in warmer pools. The breakfast was ok bacon was under cooked and was all stuck together. They need more fruit.

Cons: What I was not impressed with and that was not on the travel web site when I selected my room is that a large number of their rooms have no external window and only look-out onto one of two interior courtyards. This can be ok if you are not on the main floor, but the room I received was a main-floor room and we could not keep our blinds open because of the constant stream of people walking by a few feet from our window. Another annoyance is that our room did not have ANY heating controls and was very warm. This must be a known issue with this room as the hotel also equipped it with a desk fan. This is NOT the kind of room I would expect from a hotel billing itself as a 3 or 4 star accommodation and charging $300+ for the night.

Cons: The advertised "superior" room for which we pre-paid almost $400 a night for 6 nights was on the first floor with a walking path right next to the window, so there was no privacy at all. The safe did not work. The towels were fryed at the ends and some had stains. After our complaint, the manager of duty first lied that there were no rooms available. After the threat that we would request money return and move to another hotel, he suddenly discovered a premier room available two nights later, but requested that we check out from the current room by 11am and only check into the new one after 4pm, being for 5 hrs roomless. Only the next day the new manager on duty fixed these issues and transferred us to the room in a normal way and with apologies. The breakfast is mediocre to put it mildly, many motels have better ones. All in all, they charged these enormous prices only since they could - the location was great.

Cons: Close to all everything. Free parking. Breakfast was great.

Cons: The room was below standard. There was dust on the rug behind the door, the drain was plugged in the bathroom tub, the shower fixture needs to be replaced. In my opinion, the hotel is showing it's age. Serious consideration should be given to a complete renovation. I have stayed here before but this time was disappointing.

Cons: The room was small and the bathroom was extremely small. And our back patio was above the recreation/ game room so it was noisy.

Cons: There was a very slight small nose of a fans or something running at night. It took a little investigation to figure out the bus schedule to the Hot Springs etc.

Cons: The walls must be a little thin as the rooms tend to be on the noisy side. Not a huge deal as we would stay again.
