Cons: Parking is horrible. Very hard to even get to the entrance since there is no actual large enough driveway. Even with valet parking had to wait to even be able to get close enough to actually hand keys over. Other option is off site parking garage in walking distance around the corner.

Cons: 1. When I arrived I was not given the room I had reserved. 2. The person who checked me in was arrogant and distinctly unhelpful. 3. I was charged $18.00 per day for parking, and I didn't even have a car! 4. I had to leave a day early, but was charged for the entire stay. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

Pros: The suites are roomy and comfortable especially for extended stay. Great fully equipped kitchens. Glad there are some healthy options such as boiled eggs and oatmeal on the breakfast bar. Location is great. Walking distance to several restaurants for eat in and carry out. Great walking areas in the nearby Freemason neighborhood.
Cons: Housekeeping took forever to clean room (I only requested cleaning every 2-3 days of my 12 night stay. They had an attitude when I had to track them down. The breakfast on weekends is a sheer mess. Not enough staff-- not refilled quickly enough. If you get there :15 before it ends, don't expect food or sympathy from staff. Blow dryer and iron were horrible. I had to ask for another and the replacements weren't much better. Just super cheap. Pack your own if you can! YMCA is in walking distance. Would be nice for hotel guests to get a break so they can take classes. Parking fee is ridiculous. You can usually find a space on the street-- especially if you are parking around regular business hours or download the app and pay for the meter for a few hours each day.

Pros: Ask for a harbor-side room when you book (not when you're standing at the front desk checking-in). Staff is fantastic - friendly, professional, helpful, welcoming. Our room was a good size, comfortable bed, great view. Very clean all around. Nice breakfast and lunch in the hotel restaurant. Parking is next door but easily walkable; parking is paid.

Pros: Not much to say here but I did like the courtesy of the person in the breakfast lounge. She was very nice and trying to do her best to assist everyone while it was busy and crowded.
Cons: the front desk receptionist needs to be trained. Wearing teared off clothes, doesnt seem knowledgeable about different tiered to Marriott loyalty level. The pictures of this hotel look much newer or better than the property is. The carpet looks dirty and water stain or food stain all over place (ie from hallway to guest bedroom). Also, guest parking is shared with Dominion’s parking. If you park your car in incorrect spot your car might get towed. Parking fee is $13/day. Lounge food is at minimal: scramble egg, fried bacon, fruits and juice. From my experience, I would not stay at this place ever again.

Pros: Great, safe location for seeing downtown Norfolk sights including Nauticus and Wisconsin. Easy walk from hotel to Nauticus, so we didn't have to move the car.
Cons: This isn't specific to this hotel, but Courtyard's approach to breakfast is very susceptible to long delays during busy times. Hampton Inn and Hyatt Four Points buffets are more efficient (and just as satisfying).

Cons: Valet Parking is awful. Hotel needs to identify local events that may crest additional demands on valet staff, then use that info to bring in extra people when necessary. When we stayed, there were two college graduations at the same time which created a huge backup on Saturday morning; the suggested 15 minute lead time to have car brought up by valets was about 30 minutes too short. Give valets at least 45 minutes, hour may be better.

Pros: I've stayed at the Plaza twice now, and I wanted to give them a second try before commenting. The location and proximity to downtown Norfolk's nightlife are fantastic. The comfort level, however is quite terrible. Sleep number beds are only comfortable when a) they work, and b) they have some level of cushion between you and the air bag/frame. I have a temperpedic topper on my bed at home, and both times I stayed at the plaza I awoke with terrible body pains. I had trouble sleep as I had to keep changing positions. The AC was extremely loud, but it did the job.

Cons: The rooMy I was given should have been closed to the public. Holes in the wall, broken furniture, sleep number beds that didn't work, bugs crawled across the pillow, Reserved a king suite and got a room with 2 double beds. Could not sleep at all. Will never go back there again.

Pros: It was available, every other hotel for 30 miles was booked. Oh, the room was clean and the people seemed nice enough.
Cons: I couldn't tell which cement block contained "the garden", but there were many foreign odors that might have been organic. My favorite part was the elevator, which while layered in shiny chrome had this very East Berlin "NOW... I AM CLOSING!" tempo to its door. That sense of being in a old soviet asylum covered in new wallpaper and marble definitely describes the experience.
