Cons: This hotel made me think of a roadside motel. The rooms are very small and cramped, the air conditioning is so noisy that getting a good nights sleep is next to impossible. The valet parking is ridiculously expensive at $33. Find another hotel to really enjoy Phoenix, the jewel of Arizona’s crown!

Pros: This hotel is Nice and clean. The interior design is modern. The location is perfect if you want to take a stroll around downtown. From the front entrance, you can see the US Airways stadium, the Chase stadium or arena (sorry, not a sports fan) and just a few minutes walk away. Also it about a five to ten minutes walk to Heritage Square. One minus is the room we stayed in had only one chair and a long sofa for seating. Having just one chair made it tough for two of us to enjoy food or coffee in our room. I recommend friends to stay there, but because it's downtown, don't be surprised about how expensive parking can be, $23/night.

Cons: Our room's thermostat was not working right. Our room at the lowest temperature was freezing but at any higher temperature our room would be way too hot. There was no door on the shower which caused water from the shower to get on the bathroom floor, making it slick and a fall hazard. Our bed had no sheet, just the comforter and a small throw blanket. We had to request a sheet and add it to the bed ourselves. We had a very difficult time getting comfortable enough to sleep.

Cons: While I didn't mind, some may be put off by the need to leave the hotel and cross the plaza to access fitness center and breakfast. Both are well worth the "inconvenience"

Mixed emotions here. The room was great! Spacious, clean, comfortable. The staff was very good, especially front desk. They were friendly and seemed eager to ensure I had an enjoyable stay. My one issue (and the reason for less than stellar scores in some areas) is the restaurant facility. Taking into consideration that the pandemic finds most places short staffed (which they were), the entire food operation is massively screwed up. First, the menus. There are THREE: dine in, carry out, AND room service (though as far as I could tell, they actually don't have room service right now, which isn't surprising, or a big deal.). But to make things even stranger, the room service and carry out menus are different. Don't understand this. Both menus are quite limited to begin with...why have TWO? To add another level of weirdness, you can't call in a carry out order...you have to go down to the restaurant to place your order in person. And then you have to order at the bar, which took forever on a Saturday night (short staffed, date night, etc.) When I finally placed my order, the harried server said I needed to wait close by so they could easily find me when my order was ready. Which meant I couldn't sit down anywhere in the lounge area because of the crowd, and was forced to stand around near the bar counter. Then it took 25 minutes for my Caesar salad with shrimp to come out. After I finally got back to my room and opened the container, I discovered that the salad had no dressing on it whatsoever. My only "special request" was for them to leave off the anchovies...Someone in the Westin's management needs to figure this out!

Pros: The hotel was really comfortable and really was luxurious. But how can hotel, especially one of this stature not have free WiFi? Makes absolutely no sense! Also no hot tub or bath tub, so forget the idea of a soothing soak. You also have to pay $32 a night for parking. Or you can park across the street for $15/day, but if you leave and come back, you have to pay another $15. So don’t plan on leaving once you get there. However there is a light rail across the street if you need to travel somewhere. There is also no included breakfast. Other than those things, the hotel was really nice. I probably won’t stay again because I really love to be able to stay in a hotel with a hotub.

Cons: Booked the hotel and tried to cancel a couple hours later. Priceline spoke with the front desk manager and they refused to allow me to cancel. I understand it's in your fine print but it's just bad business practice to take someone's money when the reservation was JUST made. It's not like it was booked for months and the room was not given to someone else because of my reservation. I am the CEO of a moderately sized company and travel to Phoenix 5-10 times a year and send hundreds of clients to Phoenix. I will make sure no one stays here. Good thing you kept my $500.

Pros: Great historic building that fit in right in the center of downtown. As it is a historic property, the lobby was marvelously refurbished with its marble surroundings. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and the style is wonderful. Close to everything in downtown including the light rail, bars/restaurants, sports arenas, and nightlife.
Cons: As it is a historic property only valet parking available which may inconvenience some but wasn't a deterrent for me. Room service limited to a few hours daily.

Pros: Normally I dread the term "boutique," which usually signals small, cramped spaces with questionable decor. This was not the case with FoundRe. The rooms were spacious and very stylishly appointed, with wonderful design aesthetic. The staff were courteous and helpful and the adjoining restaurant was excellent as well.
Cons: The only slight downside was the fairly spartan "fitness room" which was a handful of cardio machines and a basic set of dumbells.

Pros: Stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. When I got off the elevator to go to my room, I stepped on the thickest, plushest carpet ever. Room was spotless. Lots of outlets on the desk so I was able to keep all my devices charged. All of the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. Even the valet, when my car was brought around, washed my windshield before I started out for home. Extremely easy to get back to I-10. The breakfast buffet was wonderful - including lots of fresh fruit and again. Walking distance to Chase Field as well as lots of bars and restaurants.

This hotel has wonderful people working at the reception desk,(Donigha?) professional, courteous, and accommodating. A nice beer and wine happy hour and a good menu for dinner and breakfast doesn't hurt either.
Cons: It is not a 'walkable' neighborhood, but then the Hilton Garden provide s the necessary services, so not a 'deal-breaker'. Proximity to the airport, for the price, in my opinion can't be beat.

Cons: The front desk lady was extremely rude to start. Absolutely zero parking although the add indicated parking is available. We had to PAY for parking and walk 5 blocks in the 110 heat. No breakfast. The bathroom door had no lock. And, the kicker is this morning I have little bites all over me!

Yes, old building, charm, history, cool, but in the heart of downtown Phoenix in this modern age, you can update your buildings to keep the old charm and still allow for the enjoyment of modern conveniences. A hotel is a customer service oriented business and the building itself is crucial to the customers experience. Our room was very small but ok, could be livable with the right amenities. Very few outlets so tough to charge up computers and phones. None in the Bathroom! None! So I had to blow my hair dry in the other room. The bathroom had a huge sink but zero counter space. So what was the counter put my toothpaste, make up, hairbrushes and such on while i got ready? A toilet seat. Yup. No counter in the bathroom. It had the charm of an old place with the type of tile but so much of the tile was chipped and the paint peeling away from the walls it just felt old and dirty and run down. The drain in the shower didn't work well and I was standing in several inches of water while I showered. No room to room AC so you were at the mercy of how cool the people at the hotel wanted to keep the place. In AZ its 100+ all the time. I bet our room at night was 77 degrees or more. We were sweating and it made sleeping tough. We probably will opt for a more modern place just for the AC and clean feel next time and be willing to pay a higher price for it.

Cons: I last stayed at the San Carlos about seven years ago. My how things change. I remember the hotel having character, being older and all, but now that has slipped from "character" to "run down." Everything looked slightly dingey. The walls are much thinner than I remember so everything was audible. The second floor is now the Luke Air Force Base floor, which is fine, but it looks like the decorations belong in a third-grade classroom on Luke base housing. For the amount of money that we paid there should be more amenities. Instead it looks like they are going for minimum service with maximum profit. The hotel needs a serious overhaul.

Pros: It was fine. Cool to see some of the history, but it’s like they forgot to evolve it to the 21st century. The shower only pumped hot water every 30 seconds, and even then it was scalding before it reverted to luke warm. It was mostly clean, but not spotless. The rooms were fine, but tiny and a weird layout. Was tough to maneuver luggage around. Nice pool. No hot tub. No bar or room service. People were very friendly.

Cons: Only 2 concerns: 1) Kayak, the agency I booked through should have included the "historic", $5/day" charge in their quote for the room; and 2) the bathroom was very small - which was not a problem for me but would have been a problem for a large person.

Pros: The Hotel San Carlos is a fascinating gem out of the 1920s. Great for the history buff, someone willing to try something unique for a lifetime memory. The staff was considerate, always helpful, and very friendly. I had no complaints. Would stay there again. (Plus, the bath towels have to be the largest ever made...the size of beach towels!)
Cons: Thankful there were lots of close restaurants. The Vietnamese restaurant was outstanding. Realize that costs and parameters limit what can be done for historic landmarks, but carpeting needs updating, wall art (movie star pictures, etc.) could be updated. And...would be great to receive a handout of all the special floor 'tourist points' or history. Ended up going floor to floor to read everything and see everything.

Pros: The lady at the reception desk when we checked in was fantastic, very sweet and super helpful. She is the only reason we stayed in this disgusting motel and didn't immediately go back to Flagstaff. We would have been a lot more upset and probably would have left demanding our money back had she not been so kind to us. The lady who worked the evening of March 15, 2015 deserves a raise! The lady when we checked out was also nice but was unprofessional and more concerned with what was on her phone. Overall, we did get what we paid for I suppose. The location was super convienent, it was 10 min or less away from everything we wanted to do. Just glad we only stayed for one night. I will also admit that the bbqs by the pool are a genius idea! A familiy staying there was bbq-ing up a storm and it smelt AMAZING. haha The hotel resturaunt was also actually really nice!

Cheetos stuck to the carpet, all of the trash cans full, all the towels were damp, no toilet paper, used soaps, dirty mirrors and counter tops, smelt like dog pee, cigarette burns in the sheet/bed, beds were super questionable, pillows smelt mildewy, and only half of the outlets worked. We ended up using our clothes for pillows and ended up sleeping on top of the comforter just because we didn't want to sleep inside. The most staff seemed overworked and underpaid. The rest seemed lazy. And by internet they do not mean WiFi, they mean a tiny computer from the 80s in the lobby... That may or may not work.

Cons: First, when I went to go check in the clerk made me wait for like 10minutes while she counted her drawer. Then she received a phone call and was helping the person on the phone while I just stood there. No apologies or acknowledgement afterwards. Second, the facility sucks. Lastly, at night I went to dinner with friends when I returned there were bikers cover the entry way, there people out fighting and smoking. My friends feared for me staying there by myself so I ended staying at their airBnB. I am currently on my way back to motel to get my stuff and run out of there.

Use it in a pinch like I did otherwise find something decent

The floors were obviously not vacuumed in quite some time. The breakfast consisted of 4 yogurts and some toast to be shared by all. All in all I would not go back nor recommend it to anyone.

Cons: The proprietor was rude, when I arrived, he couldn't find my reservation and wanted a $50 deposit if I paid in cash. Checking in took forever, and at the end he charged $3.00/night security deposit for the safe, even though I didn't use it... It's in a very bad area, but that's nobody's fault, when you go by price that's expected. I heard him talking to someone waiting to be picked up by the airport, and he wasn't polite to them either. A hooker stuck her head in my window before I got out to check in...not a family area, and the picture with a Jacuzzi doesn't exist..The pool isn't bad though. The place was pretty iffy,but not dirty, and as I said, I felt the proprietor was pretty shifty.

Location is great right outside the airport and we used the shuttle which was free. Other than that, our room key didn’t work for our room. This was not a big issue because the windows to the rooms do not have locks and you can just slide them open to get in. Very unsafe. We then got into the room to find dirty walls, moldy ceilings, cigarette burned sheets, and then cockroaches. We talked to the front desk and got a different room that was still very dirty. I would not recommend anyone staying here. Pay the extra money for a nicer place.

Pros: When we arrived at the airport we called the front desk for the shuttle. Their terrible phone line plus a heavy accent made it impossible to understand what he was saying. We waited for 40 minutes for the shuttle while constantly calling the front desk only to finally take a taxi. Once we arrived at the hotel we find out that the shuttle doesn't say "days inn" it says "Sky harbor". When we asked why he didn't tell us that, his response was "I did, you should have listened." Terribly rude plus the rooms were disgusting.

Cons: Mattresses didn't fit on the platform and there were gum wrappers under there, as well as the remote for the TV. I found dirty socks behind the dresser when searching for an electrical outlet. Hardened gum or something smashed into carpet. Visually dirtiness made us feel weird about sleeping in the sheets, so we didn't sleep well. Pool photo on website is NOT actual pool at hotel, very misleading.

Cons: The bathroom was disgusting. The tub did not drain properly, there was very little water pressure, and it was generally dirty. There was also an odd smell to the room as if they were trying to cover up some other odor. We also had trouble checking into our room. Apparently there was an issue with our reservation being sent to the hotel. It was blamed on the hotel booking service (Orbitz), but this was also a problem for the three other people trying to check in at the same time and they all used different booking services. There may be a problem with the computer reservation system.
