Pros: Impeccable Customer Service. From the first step out of my vehicle, and it being promptly valeted, to checking out and the Front Desk kindly offering to hold our bags or load into our cars for us. Simply remarkable. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Reading the history of the hotel and all of the reclaimed and repurposed features was inspiring. Fabulous atmosphere, top-notch cocktails and the Maple-Pine's dinner was out of this world! The Quirk is doing it right!

Cons: You can hear people walking around in the hallways as there is a big gap between the door and the floor. Breakfast is expensive and the only parking options is valet which is $27/day.

Pros: We stayed only 1 night downtown.....but it was wonderful. Valet parking was quick and courteous. Front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was a wonderful bonus since there is so much to do in Richmond. The room was clean and tastefully decorated and the bar and restaurant were also wonderful , clean, and the staff courteous. Would definitely stay again.

Cons: Front desk staff less than friendly, almost rude. Never saw a smile or any indication that I was a welcome guest. Minor special requests were barely accommodated. This is my third stay at the hotel and I always feel that the front desk people lack warmth, a desire to help and seemed bothered when asked for any assistance. Borderline rude. This has tainted my opinion of the hotel overall. Tell the general manager to teach this folks that first impressions count, and their #1 job is providing friendly customer service.

Pros: The Four Points in Richmond, Va. has to rank as one of the very best places I have ever stayed. Management as well as rank and file empoyees went out of their way to make sure I was happy and properly looked after. My trip began with a 36 hour layover on the way to Richmond. When I arrived Kix, Jasmine, Yassilla and the rest of the crew let me know I was the only care and concern of the hotel even though it was full of patrons. I love this hotel and they are far and beyond one of the very best. I was treated as a 1000 a night guest for 90.00. Anywhere I go I will be looking for a Four Points to stay before I book with any one else.
Cons: I didn't like the restaurant manager on duty during the day. She had a sour attitude that was a direct clash with what the hotel was trying to achieve. She was a short, red headed, nasty fireball that was from my opinion a horrible task master that drove down the moral of earnest employees.

I could actually hear the lady in the room next door talking on the phone at night, not just her side of the conversation, but the woman she was talking to on the other end. No exaggeration. Also, on the other side of the room I could here Everything that was going on with the couple staying there. Their bed rattling the walls and even shaking my bed. I could here every time someone used the toilet and not just the flushing of the toilet. The filling of the toilet too. None of the entry doors to the rooms had a soft close or open feature. So instead of when entering the room and opening the door and expecting some resistance, the doors flung open and banged the wall behind it. This went on all night and all morning with people coming and going down the hallway. One morning it sounded like something like a cart or chair was hurled down the hallway. In the bathroom, the mirror looked as if it had rotted right above the sink at some point, instead of being replaced, it was just painted over. There were a couple broken tiles on the floor surround tiles. The towel I was going to use after showering had a long black hair on it( I have short brown hair), and also there were hairs in the bathtub. The sink had something that I can only describe as dried spit in it.The shower curtain liner was worn and didn't fit the tub any longer, so water leaked unto the floor.

Cons: Did a similar review for Expedia right after I had checked in. In my review I suggested updating some of the rooms and hotel features. My review got sent to the hotel staff immediately and they responded promptly. When we arrived downstairs the next morning for checkout the receptionist was gossiping with the bellmen about our review and speaking negatively about us. When she noticed we had arrived to the desk she confronted us about our review and said she had received it. She tried to make us feel uncomfortable and sorry for leaving them a poor review. Will not be returning to this hotel for this reason alone.

Pros: The hotel was nicely maintained and clean with very nice rooms. The location was great and walkable to many restaurants and shops.
Cons: I was disappointed when they confirmed my request for a small refrigerator via text message but once I got there couldn't find it in my room. I called the front text who notified me that there are no rooms with refrigerators but they could refrigerate things for me for 31$/day. NO thanks because I was also surprised by the 21$/day for parking.

Pros: The Berkley is an established hotel with fine appointments that is very well kept. We had a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant, and the dinner menu looked very appetizing. The room was clean and very comfortable. The downtown location was very convenient to night life.

Cons: The towel in the shower was dirty - as in, big black streak across it as if it were used while working on your car, and the streak was on the front-facing side of the towel on the rack. I haven't seen that in all my travels before. The other towels in the room were fine but that one was a negative surprise. The room itself was only okay and quite outdated. The parking garage was very tight, hard on two-way traffic, crowded so you had to go up and up to find a spot, and expensive.

Cons: The shower leaked bad. The only thing “fancy” was coffee stirrers. For $200 a night, the “vip lounge” breakfast should be free. Oh wait, the break fast was lame. Also, the lounge is on the 7th floor, so if you are on the 6th floor, you have to insert your room key card into the elevator to gain access, but by the time the key card works and you push “7”, the elevator goes all the way down to the first floor to get people. Don’t stay here. A $90 Comfort Inn is WAY better. Actually, sleeping in your car is better. My stay was a total of 4 hours, and I was disgusted at the quality.

The hotel has been open for a couple of months but is still working lots of kinks, such as rooftop bar and pool not open, disorganized front desk, elevators not working properly, coffee shop lacking essentials. They even only have one wine opener for the entire place. These inconveniences were almost comical, but I hope the hotel will have it's act together soon.

Cons: I reached out to the front desk for a couple things like band aids, a beer bottle opener, hdmi cord, and they didn’t have any of those maybe 5 items I asked about. I wasn’t surprised they didn’t have some of them, but none? Additionally, the person at the front desk who checked us in was short and frustrating. He seemed either annoyed or rude by nature. Other staff were great.

Pros: Staff was accommodating, put the flower in the room I asked for. Upgraded us to a better room after checking in, was attentive with needs for ice and deliveries

Cons: The whole experience was horrendous, and that's being nice. To start off my family was there because we ran into an issue with the house we were buying. Nothing we could do, we just had to be quick and find a roof for the kids until things settled. Book something close to their school and it happened to be these. Booked a smoking room by accident and asked if it was possible to switch. The response I got shooed me. The owner looked at me and said you have to deal with it because you booked on Orbitz. I told him I would pay extra to get a different room. He threatened to put me out of the establishment. I had to wait a few nights before finally getting someone else that would make the switch. I also had to barricade the door because they don't have working locks in the rooms. I would have rather been homeless than be berated the my family was at this place.

Pros: The only nice part of this hotel was the lady who checked us in and out.
Cons: This hotel is in horrible shape and needs an update and owners who care about their guests. I would rather stay at a campground in a tent then at this hotel. When the AC stopped working we decided it was time to leave. We found a great hotel to stay at but it took us 2 hours to find a place that was pet friendly and had a room available. Needless to say, but I’ll say it anyways, we don’t recommend this hotel unless they make major improvements.

Pros: This hotel was a stop on a moving trip. It's not in a great area of Richmond, but it's on/off the Interstate (if you take the right exit-easy to confuse Chamberlayne Ave and Chamberlayne Road). It was an older place, showing some wear, but it was very clean, pet friendly, and the staff was nice and competent. Just what we needed.
Cons: Hard to find. Put the full street address on the internet, not just "Chamberlayne Road". Confuses the GPS.
